Erin and Jay had been sleeping in the apartment when Erin awoke.

She observed that Jay was still slumbering, aware that the previous day had been challenging.

Erin rose from bed and descended the stairs. "Morning!" greeted Hank with a smile.

Erin returned the smile as she enjoyed her warm coffee. "How's Jay?" Antonio asked.

Erin sighed and gave a noncommittal shrug. "He's still sleeping; we got back quite late last night," she explained with another sigh.

"Yeah, I heard some mumbling," Hank began.

Jay descended the stairs, shirtless.

"Morning, babe!" Erin greeted with a smile.

Jay caught a shifting step and nearly took a fall.

"I've got you, Halstead!" Adam shouted.

Adam yanked Jay to the floor, letting out a groan.

"Whoa! The plan was to catch him, not bring him down with you..." Erin exclaimed with a sigh.

Hank lifted Jay off the floor and settled him on the couch.

"Did you forget that putting on a shirt is part of the morning routine?" Erin inquired.

Jay leaned back against the pillows and nodded.

"I got hot..." He mumbled.

Erin fetched a towel and dabbed the sweat from Jay's forehead.

"Hank, could you grab a shirt from our closet?" She requested.

Hank gave a nod and made his way upstairs.

After Hank retrieved Jay's shirt, he found Jay fast asleep in Erin's arms.

"He drifted off five minutes ago," Erin whispered.

Hank nodded, placing the shirt down gently.

"He's getting more tired," Erin noted softly.

Erin laid Jay down onto the pillows and covered him with the duvet.

"Will said Jay will be fine. I just need to keep him from drinking beer, and he must stop any strenuous activities, like his duties as a cop," Erin explained.

Jay groaned and writhed.

"He's going to be sick!" Erin exclaimed.

Hank handed the bucket to Jay, who promptly threw up into it.

"It's okay, let it all out," Erin soothed.

Jay continued to sob and sniffle.

"Erin, I think it's time to get Jay back to bed for some sleep," Hank proposed.

Erin nodded and gently swept the damp hair from Jay's forehead.

"Come on, let's get you to bed," Erin murmured softly.

Jay looked up, his face a pale shade of yellow.

"Whoa! Is that color normal?" Adam asked, concerned.

Erin looked up and affirmed with a nod.

"Yeah, the chemotherapy is attacking the cancer cells in his blood, which can result in a yellowish color," Erin explained.

Understanding dawned on Adam, and he winced sympathetically as Jay groaned when Erin picked him up.

"I know, buddy. We'll get you settled in bed in no time," Erin comforted.

With a cry, Jay clung to the banister, mustering the strength to ascend the stairs.

The entire team exhaled and exchanged glances.

Erin was gently caressing Jay's back as his eyes began to droop.

"It's okay, you can go to sleep," Erin whispered reassuringly.

Jay closed his eyes, and Erin tucked him in with the duvet.

As Jay slept, Erin softly turned him onto his side and massaged his temples.

Erin sighed and closed her eyes.
