The team was already assembled at the district, and Jay was en route.

While driving, Jay suddenly felt a cramp in his right side.

He winced and attempted to massage away the pain.

Jay arrived at the district and made his way into the bullpen.

"Hi Ja- Woah! You look really sick!" Adam exclaimed

Limping, Jay proceeded to sit down at his desk.

Erin glanced up and observed Jay's pallor.

"Jay? You're looking pale..." Erin remarked.

She rose and gently tilted Jay's head back against the chair, pressing her hand to his forehead.

"You've got a fever as well..." she murmured.

Jay let out a sigh and fiddled with his pen.

"Are you feeling okay?" Erin inquired.

Jay gave a nod and booted up his computer.

"Okay. Would you like some paracetamol to help reduce your fever?" Erin suggested.

Jay agreed, accepted the pills, and washed them down with water.

After a few minutes, Jay felt the familiar stitch and found it hard to focus on his paperwork.

Erin noticed this and walked over to Jay's desk. "Go lie down in the breakroom. I'll come and check on you soon," she suggested.

Jay shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Baby..." Erin whispered.

She crouched down and gently pushed Jay's hair back.

"You're burning up, and I don't think you can work on your paperwork with tears in your eyes," Erin said softly.

Jay turned his chair around and sighed.

"Crowley will have my head. I'm already behind on paperwork..." Jay muttered.

Erin shook her head and responded.

"No, she won't. She can take it up with me," Erin whispered.

Jay began to sob, and Erin reached out to draw Jay's head into her embrace.

"Come on. Let's go to the breakroom," Erin murmured.

Jay rose and trailed Erin into the breakroom.

There, Erin laid Jay down on the couch and cradled his head in her lap.

She swept back Jay's damp hair and softly wiped away the perspiration.

"You're okay, go ahead and sleep. I'll be here when you wake up..." Erin soothed.

Jay's eyelids closed swiftly, comforted by Erin's gentle touch massaging his neck and scalp.

Erin exhaled softly and leaned her head against the wall.

An hour later, Jay was jolted awake by a sharp pain in his right side.

He sat up and vomited on the floor.

"Whoa, Jay!" Erin exclaimed.

She sat up and began to rub Jay's back.

"It's okay, shh, it's okay..." Erin soothed.

Jay sobbed and gripped his stomach.

"Babe, where does your tummy hurt?" Erin inquired.

Jay pointed to his right side and nodded.
