Erin. Jay. and their children moved into a new apartment featuring a pool, a spacious lounge, three bedrooms for the kids, and one for Erin and Jay.

"Babe, are you ready to get up?" Erin asked.

Jay sighed and propped himself up.

"I've been up all night..." Jay murmured.

Erin pulled a pouty face and carefully led Jay to the bed's edge before assisting him into his wheelchair.

"Let's get some warm food in you," Erin said with a smile.

Jay sighed and leaned back in the chair.

Erin positioned the wheelchair where the chair used to be and set down the breakfast.

"Hi Daddy!" Ashlyn greeted with a smile.

Jay returned the smile and began eating his breakfast.

"Can we go in the pool today, Mom?" Cassie inquired.

Erin glanced up and gave a nod.

"After lunch," Erin replied, smiling.

Cassie nodded back, smiling in agreement.

When lunchtime arrived, Ashlyn appeared in her swimsuit.

She dashed into the lounge and saw Erin gently massaging Jay's ankle.

"Mama! It's time!" Ashlyn exclaimed.

Erin looked up, still smiling.

"Hi, Honey. I'm just giving Daddy's ankle a little massage. Why don't you go to your room and play with your toys for a while?" Erin suggested.

Ashlyn's face fell into a pout as she trudged back to her room.

"There you go," Erin whispered softly.

She carefully placed the cast back on, and Jay let out a sigh.

"This cast is so annoying," Jay grumbled under his breath.

Erin gently helped Jay sit up and planted a kiss on his forehead.

"It's making sure your leg heals properly, love," Erin responded.

Jay gave a resigned nod, accompanied by another sigh.

As Ashlyn descended the stairs, she noticed Jay resting his head on Erin's shoulder.

With a pout, Ashlyn made her way to the pool, which was deep and scattered with various floaties.

Ashlyn walked towards the pool and jumped in with her waterproof ball.

Ashlyn couldn't touch the ground and was calling out.

"DADDY!" Ashlyn shouted.

Ashlyn panted and shouted.

"D-DADDY!" Ashlyn screamed.

Ashlyn sank, and her ball drifted away.

"Did you hear that?" Erin inquired.

Jay nodded and wheeled himself out.

"ASHLYN!" Erin yelled.

Jay rose from his wheelchair and dove in.

"Ashlyn..." Jay murmured.

He climbed out of the pool and compressed Ashlyn's chest.

Soon, Ashlyn coughed up water and was cradled in Erin's arms.

Erin wept and gazed upward.

"I-I want a divorce..." Erin murmured.

Jay's heart broke. What had he done?

Later, Erin tucked the girls into bed.

"Goodnight, girls," she whispered.

After closing the door. Erin walked to her room.

The bedroom was silent, and loneliness enveloped her.

Climbing into bed, Erin let out soft sobs.

Jay ascended the ramp and rapped on the door.

The door unlatched, revealing Will.

Will's eyes widened in surprise at the sight of Jay on his feet.

"Jay? How are you standing? You should be using your wheelchair..." began Will.

Jay just nodded, his breath hitching.

"What's wrong?" inquired Will.

Jay met his gaze, tears welling up.

"E-Erin wants a divorce..." Jay managed to say, his voice breaking.

Will exhaled deeply and drew Jay into an embrace.

"Let's not have you standing..." Will murmured.

He led Jay inside toward the lounge.

"What happened?" Will pressed.

Jay shut his eyes, releasing a weary breath.

"I was exhausted. Erin was soothing my ankle, easing the pain. We didn't notice A-Ashlyn walking out, and when she cried out to me, she was drowning, I-I didn't catch it. By the time Erin and I stood, s-she was already f-face down in the pool..." Jay sobbed.

Will enfolded Jay in a hug, his hand comforting Jay's back, clad in his cherished hoodie.

"Oh, little brother..." Will sighed.

Jay wept on Will's shoulder, shaking.

Five minutes later, Will had administered Jay's medication and was tucking him into bed.

Will kissed Jay's drowsy forehead and exited the bedroom.

"Goodnight, baby bro," Will whispered.

Will shut the door and retreated to his own room.
