It was evening, and Jay was in bed, asleep due to a severe headache. Meanwhile, Erin was downstairs playing with Cassie and Ashlyn, with Nadia sleeping peacefully in her bassinet.

Ashlyn set the horse down on the designated spot, prompting Cassie to speak.

"You owe me £1500, sis," Cassie stated.

Ashlyn nodded and handed over the money to Cassie.

"Mama, your turn!" Ashlyn exclaimed.

Erin picked up her hat, then paused, hearing groans from upstairs.

"Just a second..." Erin murmured.

Cassie and Ashlyn gave understanding nods, watching over Nadia.

Erin ascended the stairs and reached her bedroom door.

Upon opening the door and entering, she found Jay crying and writhing in bed.

"Oh, Jay," Erin whispered softly.

She rushed over, drew back the covers, and tenderly took Jay's hand.

"It's okay, I'm here now, baby. It's okay," Erin comforted.

As Jay continued to cry, Erin soothingly stroked his back.

"Come back to me, baby, come back," Erin murmured.

Jay gasped, waking up with a start.

"It's okay, it was just a nightmare," Erin comforted.

Jay sat up abruptly and rushed to the bathroom.

Erin followed and took a seat behind Jay.

"Come sit on my lap," Erin invited.

Jay sat on Erin's knees and Erin took his sweaty shirt off.

"It's okay, there's nothing in your stomach. You're just dry heaving, babe," Erin said softly.

Jay sighed and leaned back against Erin's chest.

"It's alright, I've got you. Do you want to go back to bed?" Erin inquired.

Jay nodded and rose to his feet slowly.

"Have you lost weight?" Erin questioned.

Jay shook his head, looking downward.

"Oh, because you seem skinny..." Erin remarked.

Jay sighed and climbed into bed.

"Thanks for telling me how I appear..." Jay murmured.

Erin sat on the bed and caressed Jay's fingers.

"No, no! I didn't mean it that way!" Erin protested, shaking her head.

Jay settled back against the pillows, drawing the duvet up.

"I want to sleep..." Jay mumbled.

Erin sighed, kissing the top of Jay's head.

"Alright. I'll put the kids to bed and then come up," Erin whispered.

Jay offered no reply, simply closing his eyes.

Ten minutes later, Erin had put the girls to bed and entered with Nadia in her arms.

She kissed Nadia's forehead and settled her into the cot.

Then, Erin slipped into bed and nestled her head against Jay's chest.

"Goodnight, love," Erin whispered.

With a smile, Jay drifted off to sleep.
