In the morning, Hank was preparing eggs and bacon, waiting Jay's arrival downstairs.

As Jay entered the room, the aroma of breakfast greeted him.

"Morning, kiddo!" Hank greeted with a smile.

Returning the smile, Jay took a seat at the table.

"Would you like some eggs and bacon?" Hank offered.

Jay shook his head, letting out a sigh.

"Just coffee, please..." Jay requested.

Acknowledging the request, Hank proceeded to make Jay a coffee.

Hank settled at the table with his breakfast and set down the coffee.

"Thank you..." Jay murmured.

Hank grinned and took his seat.

"It's odd, you being back in your old room," Hank began.

Jay nodded in agreement.

"Yeah, that window still rattles with the wind," Jay observed.

Hank chuckled and leaned in.

The phone buzzed; it was Alan. Jay glanced at it and slammed it down. "Alan..." he mumbled under his breath.

Hank, nodding, received a case notification. "We've got a case," Hank announced.

Jay, acknowledging with a nod, read the details aloud. "Nine-month-old baby kidnapped," he said gravely.

Without hesitation, Hank dashed out, and Jay was right on his heels.

Hank and Jay quickly reached the scene, with Erin and Jay standing side by side.

"Alright, Halstead and Lindsay, you two check inside the house. Burgess and Atwater, you're on the outside. Dawson, you're with me," Hank commanded.

The team acknowledged with nods and headed in their respective directions.

Erin and Jay, guns in hand, patrolled the house when a knocking sound came from the closet.

"CHICAGO PD!" Erin yelled.

The door swung open, revealing a suspect armed with a long gun.

Jay raised his hands, his voice steady.

"Okay, it's fine. Just put the gun down," He directed.

The suspect eyed Erin and Jay, demanding to see their identification.

"Where are your badges?" Tony questioned.

Erin and Jay gestured to their badges.

"Right here," Jay indicated.

Tony scrutinized the badges and offered an apology.

"I'm so sorry!" he blurted out.

Jay then lowered the gun and secured Tony with handcuffs.

After a while, Erin and Jay conducted an interview with Tony.

"Where's the baby?" Jay started

Tony was handcuffed to the table and continued to deny the allegations.

"I-I don't know!" Tony shook his head.

Jay slapped the photo down and grabbed Tony's hair.

"That's the nine month old baby you have kidnapped! Have a good look!" Jay snarled.

Tony looked at the photo and looked down.

"Can't bear it? Just tell me where she is and we'll lower your sentence..." Jay nodded.

Tony shook his head and stayed silent.

"I haven't got time for this..." Jay muttered.

Jay uncuffed Tony from the table and pushed him against the wall.

"Where. The. Fuck. Is. She?" Jay spat.

Tony got scared and looked at Erin.

After a second. Jay pushed Tony's head onto the table and this time Erin kept an eye on her partner.

"LOOK AT THE DAMN PHOTO!" Jay yelled.

Erin approached and pulled Jay away from Tony.

"Get off me!" Jay protested.

Erin escorted Jay out of the room, but Jay had one more thing to say.

"If we find that baby and she's hurt, I'm going to make your life a living hell..." Jay threatened.

Erin pushed Jay out of the room and shut the door.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Erin demanded.

Jay sniffled and attempted to return.

"No! I'm bringing Kim in with me. Go calm down!" Erin commanded.

Jay knocked over the trashcan and walked into the bullpen.

A few minutes later, Erin obtained a confession and shared the news.

"We got a confession from Daniels! The baby should be at 1907 South Roosevelt," Erin announced.

Hank nodded and rose to his feet.

"Move out!" Hank commanded.

The team stood and hurried downstairs.

Erin and Jay were the first to arrive at the scene and entered the house.

A baby's distant crying could be heard.

Jay opened the door wider and saw the baby.

The room was old, filled with ropes and buckets.

Jay holstered his gun and approached the baby.

"Hey there, Baby!" Jay cooed.

As Jay lifted the baby, the crying ceased.

"There you go. It's alright. I've got you..." Jay comforted.

Erin raised her radio with a smile.

"We've found the baby. Heading out now..." Erin communicated.

"Copy that!" came Adam's response.

Jay cradled the baby in his arms and exited.

"Alright! Time to reunite you with your parents!" Jay exclaimed with a smile.

The entire team beamed at the sight of the baby as the patrol car arrived.

Anna and David exited the vehicle and hurried over. "KELSEY!" Anna called out.

Jay approached and gently handed the baby to Anna. "She's okay, but have her examined at Med just to be sure," Jay suggested.

David came forward and embraced Jay. "Thank you. Thank you so much," David murmured.

Jay nodded in acknowledgment, his smile broadening.

"You did well, kiddo!" Hank said with a smile.

Jay nodded and walked away.

"Where's he off to?" Adam inquired.

Erin and Hank both sighed.

"Jay's staying with Hank. He can't see his kids until Hank is sure he's okay to come live with us..." Erin elaborated.

The team sighed collectively, understanding now why Jay had behaved the way he did in the interrogation room.

Erin and Jay were soon at their houses and was snuggled into bed.
