Chapter 58

It was the day after Jay had been admitted to the psych ward, and he was feeling more better than he was yesterday.

Jay was sitting up straight, looking at the plain walls.

"Little brother? Do you want some breakfast?" Will wondered.

Jay looked over, and noticed the trolley of pastries.

"What's on offer?" Jay wondered.

Will looked at the pastries, and cereal.

"There's Coco Pops? Cornflakes? Oatmeal? Granola? Or the alternative option is: Custard tarts? Apricot Pastry? Or Blueberry pie?" Will explained.

Jay thought about the options, and gave his choice.

"I'll have some oatmeal with orange juice..." Jay decided.

Will smiled, and got the breakfast ready.

"Here you go. Munchkin." Will smiled.

Jay picked up the spoon with the hand which had a hospital band on it.

"How is it...?" Will asked.

Jay drank some of the orange juice, and swallowed thickly.

"I-It's stodgy, and I regret choosing the option." Jay sighed.

Will sat on the bed, and took a mouthful of the oatmeal.

"Y-Your right..." Will gagged.

Jay smirked softly, and continued eating the oatmeal.

"Erin's coming soon, while you have your visit with Dr Charles..." Will reminded.

Jay nodded, and lied back against the bed.

"How many hours do I have to kill to get some sleep?" Jay asked.

Will checked his watch, and noticed what the time was.

"It's 06:00..." Will stated.

Jay looked at Will, and groaned.

"In the morning?! Why did you wake me up?!" Jay groaned.

Will laughed softly, and stroked Jay's hair.

"Relax! You got five hours, before your appointment..." Will reassured.

Jay closed his eyes, and fell back into his slumber.

After a few hours. Jay was awake, and he was waiting for Erin.

Erin walked through the door, and noticed her wideawake husband.

"Hey!" Erin smiled.

Erin ran over, and hugged Jay.

"How are you, baby?" Erin wondered.

Will smiled, and responded.

"Jay had some oatmeal and orange juice, we talked for a bit, and he had about five hours of sleep, until I woke him up for the therapy appointment." Will explained.

Erin nodded, and smiled.

After a moment. Dr Charles walked in.

"Morning Y'all!" Daniel smiled.

Everyone smiled at Daniel, and said their hello's.

"Morning. Jay!" Daniel greeted.

Jay nodded in acknowledgement, and looked at his fingers.

"So, before we start? Do you feel comfortable with Erin and Will in the room, while we chat?" Daniel asked.

Jay looked at his brother and wife, and nodded.

"Okay! Let's begin!" Daniel suggested.

Jay got comfortable, and pulled the blanket up.

"How are you feeling today. Jay?" Daniel wondered.

"Good? I guess?" Jay mumbled.

Daniel nodded, and smiled.

"Do you know why your here. Jay?" Daniel asked.

"I'm mental...?" Jay whispered.

Daniel shook his head, and looked at Jay.

"Mental isn't the term we use, and your not mental. Your just not very well, and that's okay. That's why I'm here." Daniel explained.

Jay scoffed, and looked up.

"Dr Charles? No offense? But. I'm not exactly the type to relay my feelings to a therapist, so don't be offended if I'm taking too long to admit what I'm feeling..." Jay explained.

Daniel wasn't offended, he knew Jay was uncomfortable.

"Your not offending me. Jay. I don't mind if it takes years for you to admit your feelings. I'm simply here to help you through whatever your feeling..." Daniel responded.

Jay nodded, and looked down at the bed.

"Well... I'm tired..." Jay mumbled.

Will stood up, and walked over.

"Sorry, he's not the best at handling questions, when he's tired..." Will explained.

Dr Charles nodded, and stood up.

"No worries. I think on our next visit. I'll speak to Jay alone. He might open up then..." Daniel suggested.

Erin and Will nodded, and Erin started to lie Jay against the pillows.

"Thanks. Daniel!" Will smiled.

Dr Charles left Jay's room, and Will sat on the chair.

"Erin? I'm so uncomfortable..." Jay whimpered.

Erin noticed Jay moving around, so she gently placed Jay's head on her chest.

"Better?" Erin wondered.

Jay mumbled sleepily, and nodded.

Erin and Will settled down. Erin on the bed, holding a sleeping Jay in her arms. Will sitting on the vacant chair.
