It was the day Nadia was coming home, and both Erin and Jay were nervously excited.
Erin packed her clothes into the bag while Jay changed Nadia's diaper.
"Woah! You did a lot of business in that diaper. Sweetheart..." Jay laughed.
Nadia kicked up her legs and giggled.
The door swung open, and Will entered alongside Natalie.
"Hi! We thought we'd drop by before you all head home," Will said with a smile.
Erin and Jay returned the smile, and Erin embraced Natalie, chatting with her.
"So, how does it feel to be a baby daddy?" Will asked with a teasing smirk.
Jay responded with a smirk of his own, carefully fitting Nadia into her mittens and little boots.
"It feels good," Jay replied, smiling.
Will's smile broadened as he gazed at his niece.
"She's beautiful," He remarked, still smiling.
Jay gently bounced Nadia in his arms and smiled.
"Ready to head out, babe?" Erin inquired.
Jay nodded and strolled out with Erin.
After a few hours, Erin and Jay returned to the apartment.
Cassie and Ashlyn descended the stairs, cooing over Nadia.
"She's so adorable..." Cassie marveled.
Erin smiled while Jay headed upstairs.
"Jay?" Erin called out.
She rose and approached the stairs slowly.
The door to the master bedroom was closed. Erin knocked.
Upon opening the door, she heard faint sniffling.
"Jay? Babe?" Erin whispered.
She moved closer and saw Jay in tears.
"Honey, what's wrong? Why are you crying?" Erin asked gently.
Jay wiped away his tears and responded.
"I wish mama could see Nadia. She would have adored her..." Jay sniffled.
Erin drew Jay close and soothed his back.
"I know, honey. She would have been a wonderful grandma..." Erin agreed.
Jay rested his head against Erin's chest for a moment, feeling her fingers gently comb through his hair.
"It's okay. You can cry here..." Erin comforted.
With a soft sob, Jay buried his face in Erin's embrace.
Erin embraced Jay tightly, leaning back against the pillows as she felt Jay's tears dampen her shirt.
Later on. The Halstead's were all chilling out on the couch, watching a movie.
Ashlyn was sitting on Jay's lap while he plaited her hair.
"Alright! Time for bed. Kiddos!" Jay smiled.
Cassie and Ashlyn got up and said their goodnights.
After 5 Minutes. Erin and Jay were in bed after settling Nadia down.
