The team was assembled at the California Rest Stop, enjoying their lunch together.

Adam selected a large chili cheese hotdog, while the rest chose smaller, more manageable meals.

"You're going to regret that..." Kim cautioned.

As the team looked on in disgust, Adam bit into the hotdog.

A splatter of ketchup and chili cheese sauce landed on Jay's shirt, irritating him.

"Adam! This shirt was clean for today!" Jay exclaimed.

Adam offered an apology and put down his hotdog.

"Use these tissues and alcohol wipes," Kim suggested.

Jay took them and tried to clean his shirt.

When the stains only spread, Jay threw the wipes away.

"It looks like I'll need to change at the hotel," Jay remarked with a sigh.

Jay crunched into his chips and sipped his cola.

In no time, the team was settled on the coach, and Jay's stomach began to twist uncomfortably. He leaned against Erin, groaning softly.

"What's wrong, babe?" Erin inquired, concern lacing her voice.

"It's my stomach... those chips," Jay winced, holding his abdomen.

Erin removed her earphones, tucking them away, and offered, "Mint gum might help, want some?"

With a weak nod, Jay accepted.

"Here, try this," Erin said, handing him the gum with a reassuring smile.

Chewing slowly, Jay felt the cramps subside slightly.

"They're... getting better," He whispered.

Erin responded with a gentle kiss on his forehead and suggested, "Why not take a short nap? I'll wake you up before we arrive."

Gratefully, Jay closed his eyes, a faint smile on his lips.

Erin smiled gently, gazing out the window. As the coach arrived, the team rose to their feet. Jay, resting on Erin's shoulder, caught everyone's attention.

"Is he okay?" inquired Adam.

With a nod and a warm smile, Erin responded, "He's just got a bit of a stomach ache. Once we're at the hotel, he'll rest up with a quick nap, and hopefully, he'll feel better!"

Understanding, the team proceeded towards the hotel. Erin and Jay made their way to their room, followed by the rest of the unit to theirs.

"So, ready for that nap?" Erin offered cheerfully.

Jay laughed and unbuttoned his jeans.

"Your the only person who I know thinks naps are cheerful!" Jay laughed.

Erin placed the luggage aside and carefully positioned Nadia in her bouncy seat.

"There you go! Bounce away!" Erin said with a smile.

Nadia chuckled and energetically bounced.

"When are we meeting the guys for dinner?" Jay inquired.

Checking her watch, Erin responded.

"It's 4pm now. We'll meet them at 8pm because Adam wants to act like a little kid and play with the cars!" Erin detailed.

Jay chuckled and playfully groaned.

"Come join me..." Jay whimpered.

Erin got herself out of her jeans and got into the bed.

"You're lucky you're sick, babe," Erin whispered.

Jay sighed and leaned against Erin's chest.

"Must you always be so snappy? I'm sick..." Jay murmured.

Erin caressed Jay's forehead and gently kissed his temple.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. You can go to sleep now," Erin said with a nod.

Jay closed his eyes and quickly fell asleep.

Meanwhile. The team gathered downstairs for dinner.

Jay sipped some ice water, but his stomach remained unsettled.

A small gag escaped him, and he covered his mouth with both hands.

"Jay? You good, buddy?" Adam inquired.

Jay nodded, then shook his head.

"Actually, no..." Jay gagged again.

He quickly stood up and dashed toward the bathroom.

The team let out a collective sigh, and Erin signalled a waitress.

"Excuse me, could we have the check, please?" Erin requested.

Alice surveyed the group and asked, "Will this be on separate checks?"

Hank nodded and explained, "We're guests here. Her husband isn't feeling well, so they're heading home early," Hank clarified.

Alice responded with a nod and a smile, "I'll bring your check right away," and walked off as Jay returned.

Jay sat down, his complexion pale.

"You good, man?" Antonio inquired.

Jay nodded, glancing at Erin.

"Can we head back to the room? I can't stand the smell of food in here," Jay murmured.

Erin nodded, soothingly rubbing Jay's back.

"Yeah, the waitress is bringing the check now," Erin replied with a gentle smile.

Jay leaned on Erin's shoulder with a nod.

"Here's your check!" Alice announced cheerfully.

Erin took out the money and settled it on the receipt.

"Thank you! The meal was wonderful!" Erin expressed with gratitude.

Alice returned the smile and headed back to her station.

"Let's go, babe," Erin encouraged with a smile.

Jay rose, gripping Erin's hand.

"Girls, you coming?" Erin called out.

Cassie gave a nod, while Ashlyn was still indulging in her meal.

"But I'm still eating my pasta!" Ashlyn protested with a pout.

Hank chuckled, shaking his head.

"Take your time, honey," Hank assured.

Ashlyn resumed eating with her baby fork.

"Alright, let's head out!" Erin declared with enthusiasm.

Erin, Jay, and Cassie proceeded to leave.

A few hours later, Hank dropped Ashlyn off at Erin and Jay's place.

Erin greeted them with a smile at the door.

"She fell asleep about an hour ago," Hank whispered.

With a smile, Erin took Ashlyn into her arms.

"Jay's in the same boat! He threw up when we got home, but I've finally got him settled enough to sleep without getting sick again," Erin shared.

Hank chuckled quietly and bid them goodnight.

"Ha! Goodnight, Kiddo!" Hank said with a smile.

Erin responded and closed the door behind them.
