Chapter 70

The team gathered at Erin and Jay's home because they had won a vacation that Adam entered in a contest.

"I never thought Adam, of all people, would win a holiday!" Antonio exclaimed.

"Hey! I can enter competitions!" Adam retorted.

The team laughed together, observing Erin and Jay.

Erin was downstairs while Jay tossed the cases down to her.

"IS MY BAG UP THERE?" Erin yelled.

Jay responded from above and sent the bag tumbling down.

"TIMBER!" Ashlyn yelled out in jest.

The team chuckled and donned their jackets.

"Can we sit together on the plane?" Cassie inquired.

Kim nodded with a smile.

"Of course! Everything alright, sweetheart?" Kim questioned.

Cassie nodded, concealing the fact that she was menstruating.

"Alright! The taxi's here!" Hank called out.

Jay dashed downstairs and scooped up Ashlyn.

"You ready to go, munchkin?" Jay asked.

Ashlyn giggled in affirmation.

"Mom, do you have my charger?" Cassie inquired.

Erin shook her head, glancing at Cassie.

"I think Dad has it," Erin suggested with a nod.

Jay shook his head in response.

"I thought Mom had it," Jay countered with a question.

Cassie groaned in frustration.

"Ugh! You two are useless! I'll find it myself!" Cassie exclaimed.

Erin and Jay exchanged surprised looks at their eldest daughter's outburst.

"I'll go check on her," Kim offered.

Erin and Jay nodded in agreement, while Ashlyn tugged at Jay's sleeve.

"My armbands!" Ashlyn exclaimed.

Jay nodded, retrieving the orange armbands.

"My toy truck!" Ashlyn continued.

Jay agreed, picking up the toy truck.

"And my Tigger bear!" Ashlyn added.

Jay sighed, taking a deep breath.

"Dad's not a yo-yo, sweetheart," Erin said with a chuckle.

Ashlyn clutched her teddy and toy truck tightly in her small hands.

"Let's go!" Hank said with a smile.

The unit playfully left their suitcases with Adam.

"So, I'm the baggage handler now?" Adam inquired.

"You're the youngest," Hank replied with a smirk.

Adam sighed, and Jay couldn't hold back any longer.

"We're just kidding, Adam!" Jay chuckled.

The unit then gathered around and retrieved their luggage.

Kim and Cassie came back from the room and departed with the unit.

 A few hours later, the unit reached the airport and waited until boarding time. Ashlyn sat on Jay's lap, engaged in a game on his phone.

Jay's phone battery depleted, and Ashlyn's face fell into a pout.
