The team was heading downstairs when Platt called out to Jay.

"Halstead! Someone's in the meeting room!" Trudy announced.

Confused, Jay glanced into the room and saw his stepdad, Alan.

"You've got to be kidding me..." Jay muttered under his breath.

Erin caught Jay's eye and said, "We have to go."

Jay gave a resigned nod. "I'll meet you in the car," he murmured.

Erin acknowledged with a nod of her own and left the precinct.

A minute later, Jay entered the meeting room.

"This needs to be quick. I'm supposed to be on a case," Jay stated.

Alan exhaled and faced Jay. "Can't you put your machete down for just a second?" he challenged.

Jay let out a sigh, anticipating the conversation.

"I'm getting married, Jay!" Alan announced with a smile.

Jay examined the card and allowed a smirk to cross his face.

You are invited!
Alan and Kerry's wedding
Place: St Jude's Courthouse
Time: 12:00PM

Jay glanced up and scoffed.

"Seriously? You're getting married again?" Jay inquired.

Alan nodded, his smile unwavering.

"Look, I have to go! Never call my work again..." Jay commanded.

With that, Jay exited the room, leaving Alan standing alone, looking foolish.

Jay climbed into the truck and slammed the door shut.

"Is everything alright?" Erin inquired.

Jay let out a heavy sigh and muttered under his breath.

"Just drive," Jay grumbled.

Erin shifted the truck into gear and pulled away.

Later, Erin and Jay were on their way back to the district.

Jay caught sight of his stepdad's bar and turned to Erin.

"Can we make a quick stop here? I need to handle something..." Jay requested.

Erin gave a nod and pulled up outside the bar.

"I'll just be a minute!" Jay assured her.

He exited the truck swiftly and entered the bar.

It was bustling with patrons, but Jay flashed his badge.

"Chicago PD! Everyone out, now!" Jay commanded.

The patrons promptly rose and vacated the premises.

Alan slammed his glass onto the counter and faced Jay.

"What's the big idea? You're driving away my business!" Alan exclaimed.

Jay took a seat at the bar and folded his arms.

"There's something we need to discuss..." Jay affirmed.

With a heavy sigh, Alan set down his washcloth.

Jay quickly exited the bar and climbed into the truck.

"Do you want to explain to me what's going on?" Erin inquired.

Jay exhaled deeply before responding.

"Alan's getting remarried," he said with another sigh.

Erin kept her gaze forward and nodded.
