Chapter 103

It was early morning. Erin and Jay had returned home when Erin began to feel ill and lightheaded.

Erin sat up, noticing Jay was still asleep.

"Oh God," she whispered.

She rushed to the bathroom and vomited some of her breakfast.

Looking back at the bedroom, she saw Jay remained un-awakened.

Erin rinsed her mouth and brushed her teeth.

A few minutes later, she stepped out of the bedroom, deciding to visit the doctor.

Jay stirred awake, noticing his wife preparing to leave. "Erin?" he mumbled sleepily.

Erin glanced at her husband and softly pressed his head back onto the pillow. "Shush, you still have a few hours," she reassured him.

Jay attempted to sit up but found his mind foggy and his eyes unwilling to open. "Come on, lay your head back down. You're still sleepy. I'm just going for a quick run," Erin whispered softly.

Jay murmured drowsily and drifted back into sleep.

After Jay fell asleep, Erin left the bedroom. She got into her truck and drove to Med.

Erin parked outside the Med and exited her car, striding into the hospital.

"Excuse me! You need to check in before going through!" Leah exclaimed.

With a sigh, Erin concocted an excuse.

"I'm here to visit a patient! He's known for being aggressive!" Erin fibbed.

Leah gave a nod and resumed her seat.

As Erin walked through the doors, she spotted Natalie.

"Nat!" she called out.

Natalie saw Erin and approached her.

"Hey! Are you okay?" Natalie inquired.

Erin nodded, her gaze falling to the ground.

"Me and the unit had come back from the Bahamas and me and Jay had sex. I've had morning sickness and all the morning symptoms." Erin explained.

Natalie nodded and led Erin towards a treatment room.

"Did you have sex the day you got to the Bahamas or the next day?" Natalie asked.

Erin sighed, recalling the past.

"The day we arrived stands out in my memory because during dinner, Jay passed me a note," Erin recounted.

Natalie nodded, securing the blood pressure cuff around Erin's arm.

"Your blood pressure is slightly elevated," Natalie observed.

Erin nodded in acknowledgment, anticipating Natalie's subsequent direction.

"Here's a cup. You know the drill," said Natalie, nodding in agreement.

Erin grabbed the cup and headed into the restroom.

After five minutes, Erin returned the cup to Natalie, who accepted it.

"Excellent! I'll take this to the lab. Feel free to lie back and read a book. I'll return shortly with the results," said Natalie with a smile.

Erin smiled, settling comfortably on the examination bed.

Natalie departed, drawing the curtains and closing the door behind her.

After ten minutes, Natalie returned with a smile.

She walked over and gently shook Erin's arm.

"Hey," Natalie whispered.

Erin sat up, rubbing her eyes.

"Sorry, I fell asleep," Erin said with a soft laugh.

Natalie gave a soft chuckle and sat on the bed.

"I've got your results," Natalie began.

Erin crossed her legs and sat up straight.

"You're seven weeks pregnant!" Natalie announced with a smile.

Erin, taken aback, asked, "Sorry?"

Natalie handed her the results, and Erin read them.

"Pregnant?" Erin murmured.

Natalie nodded and gave Erin a gentle hug.

"Congratulations!" Natalie said with a smile.

Erin returned the smile and donned her coat.

"I'll see you later!" said Erin, still smiling.

Natalie nodded and tidied up the bedding.

After leaving Med, Erin climbed into her truck.

Erin noticed her cell phone vibrating and saw that she had missed several calls and texts from Jay.

10 Unread Messages ~ Jay

Erin let out a sigh and placed her phone in the holder.

Later, Erin returned to the apartment.

Jay glanced at the door and saw Erin.

"Erin! Where have you been?" Jay inquired.

Erin set down her phone and keys.

"I was with Nat..." Erin began.

Jay nodded, looking puzzled.

"Did she go for a run as well?" Jay questioned.

Erin chuckled and took Jay's hands.

"No, I went to the Med..." Erin responded.

Jay became anxious and observed Erin closely.

"Med? Why? Are you ill?" Jay probed.

Erin shook her head, grinning.

"I've felt sick and dizzy these past few days since our return from the Bahamas. Something felt off. So, while you were half-asleep, I went to the Med. They ran some tests, and... I'm seven weeks pregnant," Erin revealed.

JJay was shocked and at a loss for words.

"How? When? Is it really mine?" Jay inquired.

Erin glanced down, then met his gaze.

"Of course, it's yours, you big donut! Remember the hotel room?" Erin jogged his memory.

Jay nodded, his smile growing.

"You're pregnant!" Jay exclaimed joyfully.

Erin's smile widened as Jay embraced her in his arms.

"WE'RE HAVING ANOTHER MEEE!" Jay shouted.

Erin giggled and kissed Jay's lips.

"Congratulations. Baby." Erin smiled.

Jay pulled Erin's hand towards the stairs and Erin spoke.

"Where we going?" Erin asked.

"I'm making passionate love to my pregnant wife..." Jay smirked.

Erin and Jay ran upstairs and slammed the bedroom door.
