175: Guilt & Regret

Normal P.O.V

“So why did you call us here?” Gray asked as they met up with Mavis at the SouthGate Park in Magnolia. Gray was still not fully recovered, his mind kept on wavering back to Gems.

Mavis just handed them the book of E.N.D which she managed to steal while she was captured by Zeref at the guildhall. “Once Natsu defeats Zeref, I'll kill Zeref. But you'll have to rewrite this book in order to save Natsu.” Mavis informed as she handed the book to Lucy.

Mavis made her way towards the guildhall, after handing over the book to them. They sat on a nearby bench opened the book and escaped numerous letters out of the book, it was in an ancient demonic script.

Lucy was in tears while worrying about Natsu's safety, and Gray didn't know anything about how to help her.

- Meanwhile with Gems -

Porlyusica was still healing the injuries that Gems sustained while Natsu, Lucy and Happy went to look for Gray. Laki joined the battle in order to help Gildarts and Cana, and Charles flew off to search for Erza and Wendy.

Gems suddenly woke up and grabbed his throat while coughing. He felt suffocated, like someone was choking him.

“Gems...?” Porlyusica was confused. “What's happening?” she asked.

“I can't breathe...!!” Gems mumbled as he got on his knees. Before Porlyusica could react she felt the same. It was actually a spell cast by August.

‘This is a spell which makes the air thinner and vaporizes the blood of living beings, the ancient forbidden spell, Ara Magia!’ Porlyusica thought as she was struggling just like Gems.

They heard Mavis via telepathy about converting their magic into defensive spell, but before she could help, the telepathy cut out.

“H-help!” Gems coughed up blood as he wiggled on the floor, fighting to get some air to breathe.

“Stay here Gems!” Porlyusica mumbled as made it little less worse for the wind mage by casting a spell, as she wrapped her arms around him, bringing him into a hug. “I will keep you safe, no matter what!” She added as she tried her best, but her magic was fading as well.

But before anything worse could happen, the spell was stopped and it went back to normal.

“It stopped?” Gems mumbled. “I can breathe again—” he added with a sigh of relief. Porlyusica broke the hug and smiled seeing Gems safe.

“What was that?” Gems asked.

“No idea...” Porlyusica answered.

“Huh? What's this doing around my neck?” Gems asked as he noticed Gray's sword pendant around his neck.

“That red light appeared again and the land back to normal... All of us got separated, Gray's pendant got left behind while he got separated from us so I put it around your neck.” Porlyusica lied, she didn't want to tell Gems that Gray was out there doing something crazy.

Gems just shook his head

“Where's Gray?” Gems asked immediately as he remembered what happened to Gray the last time he gave Gems his pendant. Just the thought of it made Gems sick to his stomach.

“Natsu and others are looking for him.” Porlyusica answered with Gems frowning in response.

“Gray and I promised each other that we'll stick together no natter what, I cannot leave him alone... I need to find him.” Gems spoke as he stood up. Gems flinched as he felt striking pain in his thigh and his sides as well. His wounds were mostly healed but the pain still lingered.
