Normal P.O.V

More days passed, but Gems was getting more and more distant and what hurt Gray the most was that he couldn't do anything. Gray gave his blood, sweat and tears to find out something that could help bring Gems's magic back, but he found nothing.

Gray didn't like how he had to sleep alone, there were nights that he couldn't even sleep without Gems by his side, it was just like the times when Gems was away.

Gray would call Gems and they would talk each other to sleep, but Gray missed Gems's touch. Gray was craving for it so bad.

Gray hated waking up alone on his bed, he wanted Gems. More like needed Gems. Truth be told, ever since Gray had become a devil slayer, he would crave for Gems more and more and he couldn't help it either. He needed Gems more than anything because the separation was driving him crazy.

Gray had grown up to dislike self satisfaction ever since he got Gems as his mate.

Gray needed Gems to quench his sexual desires.

Gray had his hands in his pocket as he walked towards Gems's bakery, his parent's bakery, but he considered it as Gems's. Gray was feeling grumpy ever since he woke up and he just wanted to spend some time with Gems to lift up his mood.

“Gray!” Gems said with happiness when Gray entered. Listening to his voice and Gray's facial expressions immediately changed to happy ones. “What brings you here?” Gems asked as he removed his apron and greeted Gray, giving him a side hug.

“Nothing, I just wanted to see you.” Gray said bluntly as he took a seat. Gems was a bit confused because Gray sounded a little off.

“Gray? Did something happen? Are you alright? You sound a little upset?” Gems asked as he sat besides him. Gray just sighed as he looked at Gems and then at the ceiling.

“Gray?” Gems asked again when Gray didn't answer.

“Uh... So... On my last mission, I tried my best to get something that can bring your magic back...but no luck.” Gray said. Gems just sighed.

“That's it? You're worried about that?” Gems asked letting out a snicker. “Don't stress about it Gray, even if I don't get my magic back, its fine.” Gems added.

“What do you mean?”

“I don't think I need magic to stay happy... Look at the life I am having without magic. No stress, no missions, no getting injured, getting to spend more time with my parents, earning good with this bakery, my parents and I are happy... What else do I need in life? My days as a wizard are really over and I have accepted that fact, and maybe...you should too.” Gems said as he put his hand on Gray's hand.

Gray's fear was becoming a reality slowly, without magic he was indeed losing Gems.

“Don't be too harsh on yourself Gray.” Gems got up and pulled Gray in a side hug. Gray missed Gems so much.

“Wanna go for dinner?” Gray asked and Gems immediately broke the hug.

“I'm so sorry Gray, I was actually preparing a special meal for my parents.” Gems said, and Gray's heart sunk. “Do you wanna stay in?” Gems asked and Gray just shook his head no.

“You should dine in with them tonight.” Gray said with a smile as he patted Gems's head. Gems smiled in response. “But after your dinner's done, wanna go for a late night long drive?” Gray asked, hoping that Gems would say yes, since he was dying to spend some time with soon to be his better half.

“I wish I could, but I have to help my parents complete some cake and cookies orders which are due by tomorrow.” Gems said and Gray's smile disappeared. “I'm so sorry.” Gems said as he squeezed Gray's hand.
