Colleen POV
"Josh I haven't felt the baby move in a few hours now that I think about it" I say tearfully as we pull into the hospital parking lot. Josh walks over to my side and we walk into emergency together. They take my sugar and its 24. Josh looks terrified. I am extremely tired. "Baby, just hang in there" Josh says holding my hand. "Tired Colleen?" the doctor asks listening to my stomach for the heartbeat. I nod. "Colleen you need to eat. This is so dangerous. The baby is fine but you could be damaging yourself" he says. "I will be right back" he says as he leaves the room. "Josh that's it. I am done working. This isn't fair to Lily" I say. "That's the best idea babe" he says kissing my cheek. The doctor walks back in and gives me a shot of insulin to lower my sugar levels. "I want you in here overnight to make sure it doesn't spike again" he says. I nod. "Can I get her something to eat? She hasn't eaten yet" Josh says. "Yes for sure" the doctor says strapping a heartbeat monitor around my belly for the baby. Josh walks out of the room for 10 minutes and quickly returns with some turkey sandwiches and salads for us to eat. He sits on my bed cross legged facing me as we picnic together. "Love hearing this sound" he says smiling at the heartbeat machine. "I feel a million times better" I say as I take my last bite of my sandwich. Josh smiles. Just then I feel Lily kick. "There she is. She wanted food" I say smiling rubbing my left side. Josh puts his hand on top of mine as she moves. He leans up on his knees and kisses my lips."Glad my two girls are safe" he says.
The next day we go home from the hospital. I walk in with Josh and sit on the couch. I jump on my phone and call into my studio. I explain to them whats happening and I instruct my assistant where my last scripts are that I wrote. They will need to teleconference me into any meetings. I hang up and smile at Josh as he shuffles around the kitchen making us a tea and toast. I lay back on the couch and close my eyes with my hands resting on my belly. I hear Josh come towards me so I open my eyes and watch him. He sits down beside me and rubs my belly under my shirt. "Love seeing you pregnant" he says as he kisses me. "I love you baby" I say as we continue kissing. "So happy I have you" I say pulling him in towards me. He lays with his head in my lap as we settle back and have the laziest day we have had in a long long time.
Later that night we climb into bed and I lay against Josh. "Josh I feel weird" I say. He looks at me. "I feel like I need to pee but I can't" I say. "Take your blood sugar babe" he says as he reaches for the machine. Josh pricks my finger and sticks it into the machine. "Colleen it's still good only 11" he says concerned. "Wanna call the doctor?" he asks. "No maybe its just the baby on my bladder" I say. I close my eyes as his arms wrap around me.
