Josh POV

We walk in the door and see Rachel and Tricia playing with Lily as Noah sits in a snugglie attached to Tricia. "Hey you guys" I say as Lily spins her head and runs to Colleen and I hugging our legs. "Having fun it looks like?" Colleen says. "Yes!" Lily says jumping up and down. "Colleen,Josh do you mind if I take them for a walk to the park? Lily wants to show me the big swing?" Tricia asks smiling down at Lily. "Yes sure. Just come back for lunch" Colleen says. "We can do that" Tricia says as she walks to Noahs room and packs a diaper bag and then returns to take Lily with her outside to get in the stroller. I watch them start to stroll down the driveway from the front window and smile as I see Lily and Tricia singing. "This lady is a pro" I say turning around to Colleen. I see Colleen hugging Rachel silently while sitting on the couch. Rachel looks at me while hugging Colleen with sad eyes. "Babe it will be fine" I say sitting on the coffee table in front of them. Colleen nods as she lets go of Rachel and I grab her hand. "Love you babe" I say. Rachel is rubbing her back. "Want me to come with you guys tomorrow? Tricia is okay with the kids" Rachel says looking at Colleen. Colleen nods. "Yes" she says. Rachel goes home and I return to Colleen on the couch. My hand runs under her shirt on her slight belly. "This is the best feeling right here" I say smiling. I lean in to kiss her and she grabs me tight as we make out on the couch. She is my world.

The next morning comes and Rachel, Colleen and I jump in the car to the hospital. We drive there silently. We walk to the unit we saw the doctor in yesterday and wait to be called. Rachel is holding Colleens one hand as I hold the other. She is shaking. "Colleen calm babe" I say kissing her cheek. We finally get called in and the doctor walks in. "Hi Mrs Evans. Well I got the results back but first lets check that heartbeat ok?" He says as she lays down. He checks for the heartbeat through the ultrasound. I listen carefully and I hear it again as I smile at Colleen. "Way better than yesterday" he says smiling. He pulls Colleen up to the sitting position. He detaches the normal saline bag from her. "Ok now you" he says looking at her chart. "Your kidneys have definitely worsened to the point I believe that you will need a transplant in the next year or two" he says. I swallow hard. "They are functioning at 10% and about 65%" he says sadly. I look at Colleen. "So you will need to replace one?" She asks. He nods. "Mrs Evans the baby is going to deteriorate your condition. It is not a great thing you are pregnant. We can't treat you with medications that we normally would because of the baby" he says. I look at Colleen as the doctor attached a new pump to her line. "Babe I think..." I start to say before Colleen interrupts me. "Joshua don't go there please" she says. "But.." I say insistently. "No Josh" she says as she knows exactly what I am thinking about terminating the pregnancy. I am upset she doesn't put herself first. We leave the hospital. I sit in the car and look at Colleen. "Babe" I beg. "Colleen you need to listen to the doctor" Rachel adds. "Guys hold your breath. We will deal with this in 7 months" she says.
