Josh POV
Colleen is out of her coma now for good. She is still out of it sometimes but at least I get to talk to her at least once a day. I see her open her eyes and look at me. "What baby? Whats with that look?" I say concerned. "It is failing again" she says. "Your kidney?" I ask. She nods. "Don't feel good?" I ask. She shakes her head no as she sits up. I grab a basin and she starts vomiting as I hit the nurses call button. Nurses come flying up to her and start helping her as I stand in horror. I see one of them run out of the room and then run back in a few moments later with Colleens doctor behind her. He checks her machines and looks at me. The nurses start to leave and the doctor is standing alone staring at me. I don't like the look. He is sympathetically looking at me. "There must be more that we can try" I say in desperation. "Josh, it is affecting her throughout her body. I am sorry. Without a new kidney we have tried everything" he says. I look at her and she is asleep. "Call the family Josh" he says as he walks out. I am shaking as I sit down but before I pull out my phone Rachel walks in. "How is she?" She asks smiling. She sees my face and rushes up to me. "Josh!" She says bending down to me. "The doctor says there isn't much they can do. She is dying Rachel. He told me to notify the family" I say. She starts crying and phones her Mom back at our house. She hangs up. "everyone is coming" she says. "I can't do this Rachel" I say sobbing. "None of us can Josh. Stay with me" she says. She stands me up and we walk over to Colleen and sit on either side of her. I lay down beside her and wrap my arm around her and cry into her neck praying for a miracle. Rachel is crying too pacing around the room until I see the door open and everyone rushes in. I cry even more. I see Gwen for the first time devastated as Tim holds her up. My Momma comes in behind them and rushes up to me hugging me. "Momma" I say sobbing grabbing her. "Joshua calm down" she says. "I can't" I say. I stand up and rush over to the washroom vomiting. I hear her come up behind me crying. I am numb. I see Tim come around the corner and bends down to me on the floor. "Josh you have to keep it together for my baby girl. Please. She can't hear us sobbing ok?" He says. "You are right" I say standing up as he hugs me tight. "I couldn't have asked for a better guy to love my Colleen. You make her so happy and that makes me happy. She is lucky she found you" he says releasing me quickly as he turns back into the room. That is the most emotional thing he has ever said to me. "Where is Josh?" I hear Colleen ask. I wipe my face and rush back in the room. She is awake and Rachel is sitting with her as they both turn to see me. Colleen looks at me and smiles and reaches for me. "Don't cry babe. You need to be strong for the kids ok?" She says. I nod kissing her hand.
