Colleen POV
I am terrified to move. I want to keep this baby safe . I know Josh is trying to be strong and even though we saw the baby yesterday at the doctors I am still worried. I lay back in bed and sit on my phone. Josh and Lily come down the hall and peak around the corner. "Mommy is awake" Josh says smiling at Lily. Lily instantly starts bouncing in his arms with her arms extended to me. Josh places her on my lap and she snuggles against me. She starts sneezing. "Woah baby girl!" I say looking at her. Her nose is running. "Josh she is getting a cold" I say to him as he returns from the bathroom. "I know I gave her some cold medicine" he says rubbing her back. "Awww poor thing" I say snuggling her again. I get up and walk over to the bathroom and grab some vapour rub for her chest. I spread some on her neck and she squishes her nose. I start laughing as she hates the smell. "It will help you baby" I say as she motions to go to Josh. He starts laughing and takes her. I smile and start undressing and jump in the shower. I finish showering and throw on a tank top and leggings and go to the living room. Josh and Lily are playing on the floor and don't hear me. She is giggling at him as he plays hide and seek. "Someone loves their Daddy" I say pouring a coffee. He smiles and looks at me. He walks over and hugs me. "Doing ok my babies?" He says. "Yup good. Just need to take my insulin" I say. He walks over to the fridge and gets it ready for me. "Want me to do it?" He asks. "Sure" I say. He squeezes my right arm and jabs it into me. "Thanks baby" I say. He throws out the needle and rubs my butt. "Uhh you didn't put the shot into my butt Mr Evans so why are you rubbing it?" I ask giggling. "Cause I can and I wanted to" he says smiling.
The rest of the day I lay on the couch. Josh is on the other couch as we watch a documentary together. Josh keeps looking at me every once in awhile to make sure I am ok. I close my eyes and sleep knowing he is near me makes me feel safe. Suddenly I wake up and am totally sweaty. I look over at him but he is already gone. "Josh!" I loudly say. "Babe I got you" he says with a needle in his hand coming from the kitchen. He rips off my blanket on my legs and injects into my thigh. I instantly feel better as he grabs my hand. "How did you know before I even woke up?" I ask him. "I saw you getting sweaty so I tested your blood while you slept. It was 26 so I measured the units you needed" he says. "Thank you baby. You are one step ahead of me" I say smiling.
