Colleen POV
I hear talking and people crying. Am I dead? No. I had surgery. Everyone must be worried. I feel a hand grab mine. Its my Joshua. I can tell how his thumb is running along my knuckles. He is kissing my hand now and I feel tears hitting my hand. My poor baby. I squeeze his hand. "Colleen" he whispers. "She just squeezed my hand" Joshua says to everyone in my room. I have to try and open my eyes. I start to open them. "Oh my god! Baby!!!" Josh says. He is rubbing my cheek. I see him. "Hi sweetheart" he says crying. I reach up to his face and wipe his tears. He is kissing the inside of my hand. I see my mom and dad and brothers and sister as well as Charlie, Greg and Lisa. The doctor standing beside me approaches closer. "Colleen how are you feeling?" He asks. A nurse is taking my blood pressure. "Ok" I say grabbing for Joshua again. Josh sits on my bed and bends down to hug me. "Missed you baby" he says kissing my neck. "My stomach is sore" I say. The doctor nods and adjusts some medicine in my IV. My family comes up to me one by one kissing me or hugging me. I see Charlie and my in laws approach. "You came all this way. Thank you" I say grabbing for them. I look at Josh and he is smiling at them. "We were worried about you Colleen. I am staying back to help you guys. Greg and Charlie need to go back to Georgia tomorrow" Lisa says. "Josh needs you... Thank you" I say. "Ok can I talk to my wife alone for five minutes" Josh says to everyone. Everyone nods and walks out of the room. "Sweetheart. How is your stomach?" Josh says rubbing my cheek. "Its ok babe" I say. "I love you baby" he says. "Love you" I say. "The kids?" I ask. "They are perfect" he says tearing up. "Did they find a kidney?" I ask. He looks down. "No one is a match in the family. Still waiting" he says. I see him cry. "It will be fine baby" I say. "Joshua, I am really tired" I say fighting to stay awake. "Baby no! Stay with me please" he says grabbing my face. "I'm sorry Josh" I say and I fall asleep.
I wake up and feel someone laying beside me. I see Josh sleeping in my hospital bed beside me. His arm around me tight. I see a nurse quietly come in. She sees me awake and smiles. "He wouldn't leave" she whispers. "He is wonderful" I say. "Let me just check your stomach and take your vitals and I will leave" she says. She lowers my blanket and lifts up my gown. I look down and see the incision in my stomach. She takes my blood sugar and gives me some insulin. She finishes doing what she needs to and leaves. I grab Josh's face and he wakes up instantly. "Baby am I dreaming?" He asks tearing up. "No babe I am here" I say kissing his lips. I needed a kiss so bad.
