Andrew bowed his thanks to the guesthouse owner. With the key in his hand, he walked over to Macy who was in her car. He knocked gently on the woman's car window. Macy lowered the car window.
Andrew handed the key to Macy. "Her house is only about twenty-five meters from here. Two-story house with white paint. The owner said it was easy to find. You go there first. I'll buy lunch first."
Macy grabbed the key and nodded slightly. Then without a word, she immediately drove her car to the house that Andrew was referring to.
Well, after their conversation at the beach, Andrew felt that Macy was too tired to drive back to Manila. Plus, they haven't had lunch yet. So, he rented a guesthouse to rest for a while. Although at first, Andrew thought of going to a hotel instead. But it seems the hotel gives a slightly negative impression. After all, they were probably only a few hours. Besides, it's not too expensive.
After Macy's car was far enough, Andrew returned to his car to go to the nearest restaurant to buy lunch.
Almost an hour later, he was at the guesthouse. Carrying several bags of food, he opened the front door and walked into the minimalist house. With the typical style of a beachfront house, the feel is simple with large windows to make the impression of the house bigger. The house is dominant in white and light blue and green. Not much furniture in it, but still gives a comfortable effect.
Andrew brought all the food to the dining table and then looked for Macy's whereabouts. He saw the large window leading to the veranda open. Slightly rushed, he headed for the veranda to find that the house has a fairly large yard with a view overlooking the beach. The smile on his face grew when he saw the figure of Macy sitting on a wooden swing.
He approached her. "Hey... Let's eat first."
Macy just mumbled. She is still comfortable looking at the sea waves that are not so high. With bare feet, Andrew saw her so comfortable letting her feet touch the green grass. Then he sat next to her, and swayed a little.
"It's so convenient, isn't it? It feels so serene without the hustle and bustle of the city," he commented.
Macy mumbled again. "Maybe that's why my parents decided to move to Cebu. They are too tired of the situation in the city."
Well, Andrew can understand it. In the past, he had also lived in a small town near the coast while still living in Italy. Initially he spent most of his time in Rome, but after promotion he asked
David to find a house with a calm situation so he could finish his writing.
"You ever wanted to live on the outskirts of town?" asked Andrew.
Macy nodded slightly. "After getting married, the idea crossed my mind. Maybe still in Cebu or in Siargao, but more to the small-town area. But Ken refused. He said that all his family are in Manila. Besides, my work and his work are also mostly in the city. If we lived far from the city, it would be difficult. Then we never talked about it again."
Andrew was silent. "Then have you ever thought about that idea again?"
Macy turned to Andrew. She let out a long breath. With a slight glance at her bare feet – without shoes, she mumbled, "Maybe I'll consider it. After I got custody of Marcus. I'm also considering resigning from St. Havens."
"If you leave St. Haven, what are you going to do? If Marcus lives with you, won't you need money for his education and other expenses?"
