Chapter One Hundred Twenty One

Macy returned to St. Haven after a forty-minute journey from the restaurant where the five of them had lunch. She returned several greetings from editors who saw her arrival, including Gil. And when she was about to open the door to her room, she was surprised by the figure of Katy who opened the door. The woman's eyes were red with anger.

"Kate..." she tried to call out.

But her eyes widen when Katy's hand quickly goes to her neck and squeezes her breath. The woman then pushed her body to the ground. Suddenly seeing this incident all the editors, including Gil, tried to save their boss.

Gil and Liam tried to pull the agent from Macy's body. While Jino ordered several editors to contact the St. Haven security and the police station.

"Katy!! Let go!!" Gil exclaimed who was trying hard to pull the woman's body or at least Katy would let go her hand from Macy's neck.

But the woman was too strong. Katy was even like a madman screaming at Macy and throwing various insults at their editor-in-chief.

"Are you happy now, huh? You're a slut! I never knew that this whole time I was friends with a prostitute! First Ken and now Andrew Coangco. Or is there someone else besides them, huh?! Oh, do you have a relationship with Jared too?!"

Gil doesn't know what Katy means and he doesn't care. Right now, all he cared about was saving Macy. The editor-in-chief was already having a hard time breathing. With a red face and teary eyes. Even Macy seemed to be starting to get unconscious because she was starting to lose her strength to fight Katy.

Oh, Gil is so desperate. There were almost four people who tried to pull Katy off Macy's body, but they were so overwhelmed. Coupled with all of the woman's gibberish words that are starting to go crazy.

Slut. Cheap. Whore. Bed warmer. And several other insults kept shouting and aimed at Macy.

It wasn't long before some security from St. Haven was coming. Followed by Director Miller who also seems to have received a report about this incident.

Then with the help of the security team, they finally managed to pull Katy away from Macy.

Jino then approached their boss to see her condition. He can see that there are hand marks on the chief editor's neck that are turning blue and it looks like her throat is starting to swell too. Katy's grip is so strong.

"An ambulance will be here soon, ma'am. Hang on," said Jino.

St. Haven immediately takes Katy away from the editorial floor and secures her in the basement until the police arrive. Director Miller approached Macy to see his friend's condition.

"Have you called an ambulance?" asked the director.

Jino nodded. "They're on their way, sir."

Jared cursed softly. How come the St. Haven security team could miss again and let Katy enter St. Haven easily and hurt Macy like this?

"How did that woman get into St. Havens?" he shouted at the Head of the Security Team St. Haven who was still on the editorial floor. "Hasn't the login for her been revoked? What did you guys actually do to get her in so easily?"

"Excuse me, sir. But we don't see any illegal entries at all. So we-"

"That means someone gave access to that woman. Do your job and check all entry id records and CCTV footage!" Jared orders in a booming voice.

The head of the Security Team nodded and immediately returned to the room

Then the director turned to several editors who were still surrounding Macy. From the look on their faces, it could be seen that they were very frightened and very surprised. He then looked at Gil.

"How did Katy enter Macy's office?"

"I-I don't know, sir. I didn't see her or any suspicious person entering the editor-in-chief's room at all," Gil said. Oh, except for the meeting with the PR team regarding the expo, Gil didn't leave his desk at all.

Besides, he had already returned from the meeting when Macy, Writer Coangco, Attorney Kim, and Marcus went out for lunch. "Maybe at lunch time?"

The editor named Alyza shook her head. "I'm still here when some of the editors go out to lunch. At that time no one came."

"Then when and how did that woman get in?!" Jared asked out of frustration.

Macy grabbed Jared's hand and squeezed it tightly. The director looked at Macy and saw that the editor-in-chief was shaking her head – as if to say that he couldn't blame his subordinates. Jared let out a short breath.

The ambulance took too long. But at least Macy is still safe.

"Okay, who came to the editorial floor? After lunch until before the chief editor comes back?" asked Jared again but this time, he is calmer.

Gil and the other editors exchanged glances. They're trying to remember who's been on the editorial floor all day.

"Writer Coangco came with the Chief Editor this morning. But the Chief Editor immediately went to the meeting and Writer Coangco was left waiting in her room," Gil said, starting the chronology of everything that happened in the morning.

It made Jared raise an eyebrow. He glanced at Macy. Well, it looks like he needs Macy's explanation about it later.

"After that no one else came. Until the Chief Editor returns from the meeting," said Editor Alyza.

"Then I went to replace the Chief Editor for a meeting regarding the expo because Chief Editor and Writer Coangco were having serious talks about the obsessive fan case," Gil said.

"Carla from the marketing team came to talk to Editor Jean," Liam said.

Jino nodded. "It was only ten minutes. And soon Lawyer Kim and Marcus came. Liam then leads Marcus into one of the meeting rooms while Lawyer Kim talks to Chief Editor and Writer Coangco. But they only talked for about thirty minutes, then went to lunch together."

"Then some editors went to lunch, it was just me and Editor Guzman," continued Editor Yza. "At that time absolutely, no one came."

"After that the editor came back from lunch. Ah...!" exclaimed Editor Guzman. He gave Editor Yza a serious look. "Do you remember? Several people came together for a meeting with Editor Mia and Editor Sandy. At that time there were about six to seven people who came together."

"They are from the marketing team four and the PR team," continued Jino.

Jared sighed. Well, it could be that Katy's chance to enter the editorial room and sneak into Macy's room. With enough people coming together, the woman would easily blend in without arousing suspicion. Even though the marketing team and PR team should have recognized Katy and reported her to the security team. The news of Katy's revocation of access to enter St. Haven has been spread to all departments. It would be strange if they didn't suspect anything at all when they saw that the woman had been 'allowed' to enter St. Haven. And besides, having the window curtains closed seemed to make it easier for the woman to hide.

"Tell the security team to check the elevator CCTV," said the director.

Liam moves to contact them. Jared then looked at Macy again. He still gripped the woman's hand tightly. His best friend's face was still red, her eyes and neck which were still swollen. He doesn't know how much Katy's strength is.

"Macy, do you want me to contact Hani?"
