Macy woke up in the early hours of the morning, around three in the morning. She felt dazed because she realized that she was in bed, while the last thing she remembered was the door to Andrew's apartment unit. She tried to move her hand when she realized something else. The intravenous tube attached and pain in her right hand.
She groaned softly. Oh good. She is in the hospital. But what happened? And who took her to the hospital?
Wait...
Macy pays attention to her surroundings. Oh, she's in her own room. But how? Then what about the infusion hose? Did the doctor come to her apartment?
She slowly tried to get up to sit back against the headboard. At that moment, she noticed Andrew's figure sleeping on the other side of the bed.
Oh, of course, it was Andrew Coangco.
She took a deep breath. She raised her left hand and touched the man's black hair gently. Feeling the warm sensation of his head in the palm of her hand.
She missed the man.
"Andrew..."
The writer woke up slowly. He looked slowly but when he realized that Macy was awake, he then suddenly got up quickly and shifted to be closer to the editor. "Macy...! Are you okay? Are you still feeling dizzy? Or feeling any pain in certain areas? Should I call the doctor again?"
Well, this is not a reaction that Macy usually sees.
"Andrew, I'm fine."
"Are you sure? I can call Doctor Tony again."
Macy shook her head. She touched Andrew's cheek and rubbed it gently with her thumb. "I'm well. Don't bother him. I promise you, I'm fine."
Finally, Andrew breathed a sigh of relief. He dropped his head on Macy's shoulder. He mumbled gratitude. Macy smiled faintly. She then kissed the man's head and ruffled his black hair. But then Andrew pulled his head and got off the bed and out of the room. Macy's brow furrowed.
And although he wanted to see where the man had gone, she couldn't seem to get out of bed for the time being. Not if she had to carry that IV bottle everywhere.
A few minutes later, Andrew came back with a tray containing a bowl of porridge, a spoon and a glass of water. He put the tray on Macy's lap. "Doctor Tony said when you were awake, I had to make sure that you ate something. So, eat."
Macy looked at the bowl of porridge. Well, it looks like doctor Tony can read her condition. She looked at Andrew who was sitting in front of her. "What happened?"
"The occupants of unit 1501 found you passed out at the door. They intended to call an ambulance, but I said I'd call the doctor. An hour later, doctor Tony comes and examines you. He said that you were just tired and your body needs enough rest."
Macy nodded slightly. Oh, it seems the doctor didn't tell Andrew that she didn't eat anything all day yesterday. Doctor Tony would have known that well.
That's probably the reason for Andrew to make sure that she eats something after she wakes up.
She grabbed the spoon with her left hand and started to feed the porridge.
"A little bland huh? Do you want me to get some kimchi or any condiments?" asked Andrew.
But Macy shook her head. "It does not matter. This is enough. Thank you."
