Hani took a deep breath. She is receiving a call from the police station regarding the continuation of Macy's case. Well, she isn't surprised to hear that Katy came to the police station, along with her lawyer, to carry out an investigation. The detective in charge of the Macy case said that the woman was very cooperative but that didn't mean she wouldn't deny it. Katy only gave ambiguous statements to all the questions asked. Even the detective had a bit of trouble getting a real confession.

Heck, Hani seems to have to agree with what agent Lee said about the woman who has a sociopathic tendency.

"We need a direct statement from the victim, Attorney Kim."

Her eyes widened. Macy's statement? Oh, that would be hard. "Didn't Doctor Steven already give the results of the examination and also the recording of his conversation with my client?"

"That won't help much. Doctor Steven also said that there are actually other things that the victim is still hiding."

The lawyer sighed softly. She didn't like it when the detective called Macy a victim. Even though it's the truth.

"We also need to cross-state it with the statement Ms. Perez has previously given. If I'm being honest, with all the evidence you've provided, the judge would probably have sentenced her to at least a few years. But with Ms. Perez and her lawyer's statement, it will be difficult. Even if there were incriminating witnesses, it would not be enough. Ms. Cruz needs to speak directly and completely about what happened to her."

Oh, did the detective think that she wasn't trying to do that? But the editor's stubbornness didn't make her any better. She doesn't know what her friend is trying to cover up with her silence for what Katy did to her.

"I'll try my best, Detective. Thank you."

Gil opened Macy's door after knocking twice. "Ma'am..."

Macy raised her head and looked at the senior editor. "Yes, Gil?"

"The representative from social services has just arrived. He said it is for observation. Order from the court?" said Gil.

Oh, Macy forgot a little about that. It feels like just yesterday, Hani said that she would try to swap her schedule with Ken's schedule regarding the observation. She just didn't think that the employee would come this Monday.

She nodded and then went to meet the social service employee. A middle-aged woman in a gray formal dress. Her face looks so friendly with a smile on her face. The woman introduced herself as Director Debbie Manahan. Macy greeted the woman and was about to invite her into her office.

However, the woman refused.

"I know you're busy, Editor Cruz. So, I'll get started right away. First, I'll probably interview some of your editors. Oh, are you going to pick up Marcus at school today?"

Macy nodded slightly. "That's right. I'll pick him up and we will have lunch together."

"In that case, okay. Is there a room that I can use?"

She then turned to Gil. "Gil, please escort Director Manahan to meeting room three."

Andrew took a deep breath. He just sent an email containing a scan of Macy's passport to Addy.

And when he pressed the send button, at that moment guilt welled up in his chest. His girlfriend didn't know anything about it. He even took the passport secretly and then returned it to its original place before Macy realized it.
