At eight o'clock at night, Macy arrived at her apartment. She had so much work to do because most of the morning she was just stuck with meetings for the expo so her work piled up. And she didn't want to put it off to work on tomorrow, because it would only add to the pile of work.
She took off her shoes in the foyer and walked down the hallway. She frowned slightly when she saw that Andrew was busy typing in the living room. She thought that the man's new novel draft was finished. Is her boyfriend about to start his new writing process?
"Oh? You've come home!" Andrew exclaimed who realized that Macy had gone home. He rushed to his lover and hugged her tightly. Gently, he patted the woman's back. "You've worked hard today."
Macy exhaled and her body became more relaxed in the man's arms. "I'm sorry if I troubled you today."
Andrew shook his head. He let go of his hand and looked at his lover. "There's no need to apologize. You better take a shower and change clothes. I'll prepare dinner for you."
"Where's Marcus?"
"Well... today he was too active. After dinner, I help him check his homework for thirty minutes and then he goes straight to bed," the writer said with a big smile.
It made her frown. "What have you been doing all day?"
"It's not something you need to worry about, love. There, take a shower and change into something more comfortable. Oh yeah, is it okay if it's just instant noodles?"
Macy nodded. "That's okay. I don't think I can eat something heavy like rice right now."
Then she went to her room while Andrew turned off his laptop first. After all, the woman will take a shower first so he will have ten minutes before he cooks the instant for his girlfriend.
Fifteen minutes later, Macy left the room already wearing pajamas and half-wet hair. At the dining table, Andrew was waiting with a warm bowl of instant noodles. She smiled and sat in front of the man and pulled the bowl of instant noodles towards her.
"Thank you," she said to her lover as she took a pair of chopsticks.
The man smiled a little. "Have a good meal, Mace."
And while she ate, Andrew started a conversation by watching his lover closely. "Today, all day you just have a meeting?"
"No. The meeting ended around one o'clock. Then I checked some drafts that must be ready before Thursday," Macy said after she swallowed her food.
Andrew nodded slightly. "Nothing else special happened?"
She became silent for a moment, then looked at her boyfriend. "Well, Jared is back talking about the promotion. He said that the president wanted the inauguration after the expo, because Director Sandy wanted to retire before the thanksgiving."
"And what is your answer?"
Macy turned to stare at the bowl of instant noodles in front of her. "I said that it still needs to be considered. Because if I take that position, then our trip to Seattle..." Then she glanced at Andrew. "Jared said that if I submitted the leave request form before the inauguration, even after taking on a new position, there would be no problem if I went on leave."
"But you find that unprofessional?"
She nodded slightly. The man smiled again.
"I can rearrange our trip to Seattle. We can go during the thanksgiving vacation."
