With the change of her daily routine, Macy gained weight and girth rapidly. Much to the delight of everyone around her, especially Andrew.
"You've got to stop feeding her all this unhealthy stuff!" Hani protests as she eyes the packet of cookies depleted at record time. Andrew is gazing lovingly at the woman who is doing the depleting with precision.
"She needs to eat and the baby needs to eat too!" Andrew grinned as Hani rolled her eyes with a hopeless glare.
"Look at her! She's gaining too much weight!" Hani cried in desperation. "What about healthy stuff like grains and vegetables and yogurt?"
"She eats those too!" Andrew argues.
Macy rolled her eyes irritably. "For your information, 'She' is still here! You two are talking as if I am not in the room!"
"Sorry, love." Andrew apologized with a smile but Hani could only shake her head sadly for the writer who is a total whip guy now.
"I happened to like these cookies." Macy snorts crossly. "And everyone is desperate for me to gain weight, so what's the problem now?"
Hani threw her hands up in a 'I give up' gesture and flopped down in the seat next to Andrew.

Weekends are now reserved for short walks in the woods but they are far and few unless Andrew puts his foot down and insists that Macy gets some exercise. But most of the time, Macy gets her way and they would spend time in bed napping or playing with Marcus when the boy wants to sleep with them.
As with the many weekends before, they found themselves in bed on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Macy is snoring softly while Andrew lay on his side beside her, one hand propping his head up while his other hand is gently caressing the baby bump on his wife's tummy as he held a conversation with his unborn son.
"Hey, son, this is daddy. How are you doing there? Kind of cramped, I know. Hang in there, you will appreciate how vast the world outside is once you are born. We are very excited to meet you. Marcus, your older brother is ready to share his toys with you. But I need to talk to you about mommy. Could you try not to kick her so hard? That's not to say that we don't like to feel your kicking, but sometimes you tend to overdo it and it really put your mommy in a lot of pain. And well, your mom is already going through a lot of discomfort carrying you for the last five months. So promise me that you will go easy on her the next time you want to stretch your legs, okay?"
He grinned as he shifted closer to press an affectionate kiss on Macy's baby bump. Contented and feeling a wee bit sleepy, he lays his head down on the pillow, and he clasps his hand on Macy's before he falls asleep too.

Andrew has been pacing the floor behind his front door for the last half an hour. He is waiting for the doctor to arrive. From time to time, he will peek into the bedroom to check on Macy. The woman is resting in bed, propped up feebly against a tower of pillows but her face has not regained any of the lost colors.
When he had called home during lunchtime like he does everyday to check on his pregnant wife, their house helper had informed him that Macy is resting. The nervousness in her voice had alerted him and he had to press her continuously for the next few minutes before she dared to tell him what he wanted to know.
Macy had spent the afternoon pottering around in the kitchen preparing a fruit salad for Andrew. She had caught the recipe on tv that morning and decided to surprise her husband with it.
