Hani chuckled at Marcus' enthusiasm for meeting his mom. When she picked up the boy at school, he immediately pulled her away even though she had not had time to say goodbye to his teacher. All the way to St. Haven, Marcus talks about his day at school. And the lawyer is happy that the boy is enjoying his day. Even though since last night, he kept asking about his mommy.
When they arrived at the editorial team's floor, Marcus greeted several editors he knew. But when Jino realized that Lawyer Kim was coming with Marcus, he quickly called Liam and asked the editor to accompany their boss' son for a while.
Hani didn't understand why Jino did that.
"Senior Gil said that Editor Cruz and Writer Coangco are waiting for you to talk about the obsessive fans case. So, Liam will be accompanying Marcus for a while," Jino explained.
She then glanced at Macy's closed room. Even when the curtains were closed, she didn't usually do that. So, this is going to be a serious conversation. Hani touched the boy's head and smiled at Marcus.
"Marcus, aunt and mommy will talk for a while."
Marcus looked up to look at his aunt and nodded. Liam then held out his hand and the boy took it. Liam then invites him to an empty meeting room.
She glanced at Gil's empty desk. "Where did Gil go?"
"Editor Cruz asked Gil to take her place in a meeting with the PR team regarding the expo preparations," said Jino.
The lawyer nodded and then walked towards Macy's room. On the other hand, Jino returns to his desk. Hani knocked on the door before trying to open it. But the door was locked. Well, again, another thing that Macy never did before. But she remembers that Jino said that Macy asked Gil to replace her for the meeting because Andrew came.
Heck, they might be talking about the obsessive fan case. But if Macy and Andrew are in the same room, with the curtains closed and the door locked. They may need privacy.
"Hey, Chief Editor Cruz..." she said as she knocked on the door again.
But there is no answer. Hani groaned in annoyance as she took out her phone. She doesn't know what the two of them were doing in the room. Faintly, she could hear her friend's cell phone ringing tone.
After a few minutes, Macy answered the phone. For that, the lawyer is quite grateful. Because she might be looked at strangely by all the editors in the room because she was just standing in front of their chief editor's room door. And she can't say that their boss locked the door.
"Open the door, Chief Editor Cruz, now."
The connection was cut off followed by the sound of a key turning and the door opening. The first thing Hani saw was Andrew's figure. One of her eyebrows raised but the man just smirked innocently. She rolled her eyes in response and walked in while Andrew closed the door. She then looked at her friend who was behind her desk with a flushed face.
"I won't ask what you are doing with the door locked because it is quite obvious," the lawyer said as she sat on the sofa.
Macy snorted and walked over to the sofa. She chose to sit next to Andrew. That made Hani snort once again. Seeing the woman's attitude, she could guess easily. Especially by just looking at the way the writer looked at Macy.
"Where's Marcus?" Macy asked. "You said you would bring my son here?"
"He's with Liam. Jino said you were waiting for me because you wanted to talk about the obsessive fans case." Hani answered.
Macy nodded slightly. Andrew turned to her. There seems to have been some progress. Even though at first, he thought that Macy was using that excuse so that her editor's subordinates wouldn't disturb them.
"Any progress from the investigation?" asked Andrew seriously.
Macy stared at him for a moment. She couldn't tell the man that Katy – and even her ex-husband – was involved in the case. It feels like Andrew is just an unaccounted-for victim. Katy is only aiming for her. With the case of obsessive fans it's just the effect of their closeness.
Macy took a deep breath and dropped her head on Andrew's shoulder. "Ask Attorney Kim," she muttered.
Hell! She didn't dare to see the man's reaction when he found out everything.
Andrew then glanced at Hani who was still watching them. There was a worried look on the lawyer's face. And at that moment, he knew it was aimed at Macy. Well, maybe yesterday when Macy came to the police station, she already knew about the case in advance. That's the only assumption that crossed his mind about the woman's rapidly changing attitude.
"Lawyer Kim..."
Hani changed her body position to look more professional. This is Lawyer Hani Kim and not Hani Kim, Macy's senior at the university.
"I got a little information from the detective who investigated the obsessive fans case. Not much because it looks like the Detective still needs to do further investigation. But they seem to have got the name of the mastermind of all the obsessive fan cases that happened to you, Writer Coangco," said Hani calmly.
It was so different from Macy who looked shaking. She even breathed heavily. Andrew then took Macy's hand. It feels so cold. Heck, this is a very different reaction from twenty minutes ago.
"Did the Detective say a name?" asked Andrew.
The lawyer glanced at Macy briefly. And Andrew watched Macy who was still hiding her face from his view. He could even feel the woman's grip getting tighter.
"Katy Perez."
