Hani glanced at Macy who was just silently staring at the road – looking at all the passing vehicles. Ten minutes ago, she came to St. Haven to pick her up.
The editor sent a message early in the morning that she was coming to the police station to give a statement about last week's events.
Not wanting to make the woman change her mind again, she immediately came to St. Haven. Even though Macy had already made up her mind, Hani knew that the woman would reconsider what action she should take. So, she rearranged some appointments with some of her clients.
Macy didn't give any reaction when she saw that Hani was waiting for her. She just told her that she had some things to take care of before they could go to the police station. However, the whole time the lawyer was waiting, she noticed the change in Macy's attitude. The woman looked somber. Maybe because yesterday was a social service employee's observation, so she felt a little worried and upset.
"Macy..."
Macy muttered under her breath without turning to Hani.
"You... are you having a problem?" the lawyer asked. "Today, you look different. Is this because of the social service employee's observation yesterday?"
Macy turned and looked at Hani who was focused on driving. "It's not that. But I'm fine. Don't worry too much."
Hani sighed. Her friend said not to worry. But the woman's face said otherwise. She knows Macy too well. Her face today is exactly the same as when she came to her office and said that Ken filed for a divorce.
If before was because of Ken Reyes, maybe this time was because of Andrew Coangco.
"Writer Coangco..." Hani said carefully. She glanced at Macy to see her expression. "Did the two of you fight?"
Macy looked at Hani for a while before she looked away again. Slowly, she sighed in frustration. She is frustrated with herself. It felt like there was nothing she could hide from Hani.
"We are not fighting. Maybe to be more precise, he..." her words trailed off. She closed her eyes for a moment as she took another deep breath.
"What did he do to you, Mace? If he hurts you, just say so. I will-"
"It's not because of that," interrupted Macy quickly. She opened her eyes and looked at Hani seriously. "He might rethink our relationship."
Hani frowned. "Rethink? What does that mean? Macy, listen-"
"I don't want to talk about that right now, please."
The lawyer sighed. Again, Macy is being secretive like this. It feels like the woman was never like this before. Although she is not completely open to the problems she faces, she never diverts the conversation like this.
Well, when Macy gives a statement to the detective who handled the case, Hani will be able to steal the time to contact Andrew. She wouldn't take her time and wait until Macy herself came to her to talk. Since the divorce process started, Macy has changed too much.
And Hani Kim didn't like her change in attitude.

David reads the document that just arrived – the one from CR. And when he opened it, the document was related to the draft novel that Andrew sent earlier.
He then walked over to his cousin's desk, where the man was focusing on his laptop, probably finishing another draft of a novel.
David put the document on the table.
