Andrew poured the warm tea into the mug carefully. Then he gave the mug to Marcus who was waiting for him. The boy held the mug with both of his hands.
Luckily the mug is made of heat-resistant material, so he doesn't have to worry.
"Take it with care, okay?"
Marcus nodded. His focus was on the mug until he walked slowly to his mommy's room. Andrew followed behind him, just in case. When the boy entered his mother's room, Andrew was standing in the doorway watching.
Marcus walked to the bedside very carefully. "Mommy! I brought warm tea for you."
Macy smiled faintly and took the mug from her son's hand and sipped it slowly. "Thank you, sweetheart."
The boy chuckled and climbed into her bed. Meanwhile, Andrew returned to the kitchen to prepare lunch after making sure that Marcus brought the tea mug safely. But before starting to cook, he needed to contact Hani first. He took his cell phone on the coffee table and looked for the lawyer's contact.
"Lawyer Hani Kim..."
Hani's voice came from the other side of the phone. He sighed and walked into the kitchen.
"Lawyer Kim, can you contact Doctor Steven and tell him to come to Macy's apartment."
"Oh? Macy's apartment? Did something happen?"
He opened the refrigerator. Well, Macy doesn't have much food stock in her refrigerator. Yesterday when he shared their groceries, the woman said that she doesn't need much food. And now, he slightly regrets why he didn't spend more.
"Uhm, maybe you should come and see for yourself. The condition is not bad. She's much calmer. Moreover, Marcus is with her at the moment," said Andrew as he closed the fridge.
"Marcus is with you, guys?"
He mumbled again. "We picked him up earlier and were planning to go to the amusement park. But..." Oh, he wasn't sure how to tell the lawyer that Macy's condition got a little worse after reading her message. He knows that it only made her feel guilty.
He rubbed his forehead awkwardly. "Can you come here? With Doctor Steven?"
"Okay, I'll call Doctor Steven right away. Maybe about an hour?"
Andrew glanced at the watch on his wrist. Well, that's enough time. He can make a simple lunch while waiting. Besides, he was sure it would be difficult to persuade Macy to eat at this time.
"Okay. Thank you, Lawyer Kim."
Then he hung up the phone. He took a deep breath and headed back to Macy's room. He saw Marcus was talking very enthusiastically to his mother. And the editor listened while occasionally responding.
Without realizing it, he smiled at the interaction between the mother and son.
"Andrew...?" the woman asked who was aware of his existence.
It made Andrew a little aware. He doesn't know how long he lost his focus.
"Quick question. Pasta or kimchi fried rice?"
"Kimchi fried rice!!!" exclaimed Marcus loudly.
The boy's answer made the both of them chuckle. He nodded slightly.
"Okay, kimchi fried rice," he said, confirming it. "With sunny-side-up eggs?"
"YES!! YES!!" Marcus cheered again.
