Andrew walked towards the car where the driver and two bodyguards were still waiting for him.
He took a short breath. The promotion period for his book was over, but why were they still following him like this? Even if the promotion time is still running, after St. Haven decided to end it, the driver and the two bodyguards should be back at their jobs in St. Haven.
He already told them that, but the reason that they are still accompanying him is that Director Miller still hasn't given any orders to return to St. Haven. So, they insisted on staying with him, at least until the end of this week.
One of the bodyguards opened the back door as he got closer. It made him sigh again. Even in the previous country, publishing companies had never treated him like this.
Andrew stopped in front of the open door. He looked at the two bodyguards. "We are in St. Havens."
The two bodyguards glanced at each other. Oh, he can guess what they are thinking. Of course, they are in St. Haven at this time. But that's not what he really meant.
Then one of them answered. "That's right, Writer Coangco."
Oh, they might think that he is stupid. He rubbed his face. "I mean, because we're in St. Haven, you can return to your previous work."
"But Director Miller..."
He raised his hand. "My book promotion period is over. So, you don't have to follow me anymore. Even if you reason that Director Miller hasn't given any orders yet, isn't that reason enough? You don't have to follow me anymore."
"Although that's true, but with the current situation we-"
"I can take care of myself. After all, those obsessive fans wouldn't dare to approach me for the time being. I also don't plan to go out in public for these few days. Maybe just in apartments, supermarkets and studios. Agent Lee is still recovering, but he will be back in a few days," he explained.
"And we'll be with you until those few days come, Writer Coangco."
He groaned in annoyance. He could have left the parking basement without caring about the three of them. After all, the car also belongs to St. Haven and he can return to the apartment by taxi. However, he didn't want to be the cause if they got into trouble later. After all, David had warned him not to cause trouble while he wasn't around.
"Can't you..." David breathed heavily. "I just want to be alone right now. And maybe I won't be out of the apartment for a few days either. So, you don't have to... please... this is a request,"
Heck, he never pleads like this to strangers, especially regarding his privacy. They are more likely to support his every request. But this time, it was so different. And it seems that everyone who works – or has affiliation with St. Haven has a stubborn nature.
Well, because he is currently under contract with St. Haven, he will not deny that he is also stubborn. But that's not the case right now.
"Okay. If you don't intend to leave the apartment for a few days, we will not come to your apartment tomorrow. Instead, until Agent Lee returns, we'll always be in touch with you, maybe every few hours – just to check your location. We still need to report to Director Miller regarding your safety, Writer Coangco."
He nodded slightly. Well, it's better than nothing.
"Then come in. We'll take you home, Writer Coangco."

Ken smiled when he saw Marcus coming out of the school building and walking towards him. His son didn't look so excited. His teacher sent a message earlier and said that the boy didn't look as cheerful as usual. Even when asked, Marcus did not give a clear answer. And Ken just thought that Marcus missed his mother.
"Hey, big boy...," said Ken.
Marcus smiled faintly then took a short breath. Ken became awkward. His son might have started to act normal to him, but because of the previous problems they couldn't act like they used to. There's still some awkwardness. Marcus didn't even talk much when he was with him.
"Why? Your teacher sent me a message that you looked gloomy in class," Ken said. "Is there something on your mind? Are you not feeling well?"
Marcus shook his head. "We eat lunch at the restaurant, mommy often buys sandwiches, don't we?"
"Sandwich? O-oh... all right. We will have our lunch there. And since it's mommy's favorite restaurant, how about we invite mommy too? You must miss mommy, right?"
The boy just shrugged. "Whatever, dad."
Then Marcus went to his father's car. Ken let out a long breath. His son may have acted like this before, but he always knew the reason behind his son's behavior. However, this time he did not understand it at all. Because this morning he still looks quite cheerful.
Then Ken walked after the boy. He opened the passenger door for Marcus and helped him put on his seatbelt. After that, he went to the left side of the car and climbed inside. And before starting the car engine, he took out his cellphone to call Macy.
But there was no response. He tried to contact his ex-wife several times.
"Are you contacting mommy?" asked Marcus.
Ken nodded. "But your mom has not picked up yet. I will contact Uncle Gil."
Like what he said, he tries to contact Gil. Who knows Macy has returned to St. Haven? Because previously, when he stopped by at St. Haven, he was quite surprised that Macy didn't come back to the office right away after their conversation.
"Hello, Gil? Sorry to bother you. Is Macy back? I tried to contact her but she didn't pick up," Ken said.
"The Chief Editor sent a message that she would not be returning to St. Haven after she leaves the court. She said something had to be done."
Ken bit his lip. Did Macy go to see Katy?
"Ah... that's how it is."
"Something happened, Writer Reyes? How's Marcus?"
He turned to his son who was watching him closely. He smiled thinly. "No. Marcus just thinks of having lunch with his mom. Alright, thanks Gil." Then he hung up the phone.
"Looks like mommy has gone somewhere. Uncle Gil said that mommy didn't come back to the office. Let's just have lunch together, okay?"
Marcus nodded slightly. "Okay..."
Ken kept his phone. Then put on the seatbelt before starting the engine. The man took a deep breath before driving the car out of the school area.
Macy, I hope you are well.
