Gil notices the change in his boss. Well, it's not just Gil. Everyone can definitely see the changes that have happened to Macy in a matter of days. One day after the editor-in-chief didn't show up for work, the changes were completely different. Gil just hopes that this is a good change. But seeing the editor-in-chief's expression today, Gil thought again.

Even though her appearance was different, Gil could still see the blue expression on Macy's face. Even when she smiled, it didn't take away the gloom. Gil thinks something must have happened in Macy's personal life.

And since it was something personal, Gil couldn't ask or interfere.

Gil took a deep breath before getting up from his chair. The meeting was over and almost all the editors had returned to their respective desks. Gil looked at Macy as he continued to walk towards the exit.

But before leaving, Gil approached the editor first. "Ma'am..."

"Yes, Gil?" Macy asked without looking. She is still busy with some documents that must be corrected immediately after the meeting.

Gil looked a little hesitant to speak. Macy glanced at him slightly. "What is it?" she asked again.

"Err... for Author Coangco's novel launch, are we going to do it here in St. Havens?"

Macy took a deep breath. She then looked at Gil closely. "It was his decision, Gil. I've notified the Board of Directors and filed a few other places. However, the Board of Directors seems to agree with the proposed launch in St. Haven. But I'm still waiting for the official documents. Moreover, if it will be in St. Haven, we can control the security system. So, we will do it here."

"But less than a week? Is that enough?"

"We have sent out special invitations for the launch of the novel. We just need to provide further information regarding the place. As for the other preparations, I think everything will be finished in a few days. Besides, there's not much to do," Macy said.

Gil admits it. If they do it in St. Haven, it will reduce some of the work. But still. This has never happened before. Even for other VIP writers. They will usually do a launch event at a hotel or to the largest bookstore which is the main distributor of St. Haven.

"Oh yes," Macy continued. "The suggestion regarding the barcode, it seems like we can use it. Maybe as a badge of invitation. So, it will prevent intruders from trying to get in. We can send it at once via email along with the follow-up information on the invitations we've spread out... can you do that?"

Once again, Gil took a deep breath. He had no other choice, right?

"Okay, ma'am. I will do it."

Andrew leaned against the elevator wall.

He chose to return to the apartment rather than in the studio with David who always asked for an explanation, but the man didn't even provide any solution for him. In his hand, he carried the box of food he gave to David. Well, the contents are still intact. The French toast was still untouched by his cousin.

Just then, the elevator doors opened. Andrew stepped out and walked towards his unit. But his eyes widened when he saw the figure of a small child trying to enter the door code on his front unit.

"Marcus?"

The boy turned and smiled at him. "Uncle Andrew!"

Andrew then approached the boy while watching him carefully. "Who are you here with? Did your mom pick you up from school?"
