The meeting ended with Ken's decision to pay a penalty to St. Haven for nearly one point three million pesos for withdrawing the publication of his latest novel. The nominal is quite large but it is worth all the losses suffered by St. Haven.

Moreover, they have also printed seventy thousand copies of the writer's novel as the first printing, with forty thousand of them already distributed. Now St. Haven will recall all the novels after they issue an official announcement regarding the cancellation of Ken's novel release.

Macy walked out of the meeting room with Jared.

"Are you going home? You're only here for this meeting, right?" asked the director.

She glanced at the watch on her wrist. It was almost noon, but Marcus' school wasn't over yet. And Andrew hasn't messaged yet. Maybe she will stay in St. Haven and wait for school time to end. Besides, she needs to talk to the editor team.

"I'll talk to the editorial team first. After that I will pick up Marcus. I and...." her words stopped when she saw Ken walking towards them.

Jared also looked at the man. "Is there anything else I can help you with, Writer Reyes?"

Ken looked at Macy closely. One of the director's eyebrows rose. Well, it seems that the man wants to talk to Macy alone. Seeing that the lawyer and studio staff had already left, but Ken was still here.

Jared took a deep breath and patted Macy's shoulder. "Before you go, meet me first, okay?"

Macy nodded at Jared, then the director walked towards the elevator. But as he enters the elevator, he sees a woman he doesn't recognize. It was as if he didn't know the woman. Heck, how did that woman enter St. Haven especially with the new system St. Haven has?

But when Jared wanted to ask, the elevator door closed.

On the other hand, Macy and Ken re-entered the meeting room to talk privately without being heard by anyone. The two of them sat across from each other again. Macy looked at the man seriously.

"Speak," she said quietly.

But it wasn't Ken who spoke. Because the door is open again. She turned and saw a woman walking in. She frowned but seeing Ken who didn't react, she knew that this was planned.

But then something felt like it made sense. Regarding the man's lateness and his reaction, he always avoided her during the meeting. Her eyes widened and she stood up from the chair. She alternately looked between the woman and Ken.

"You are the obsessive fan," she muttered.

The woman smiled at her. "Nice to see you again, Editor Cruz."

Andrew texted Macy that he was going to Marcus' school now. After hours of listening to Katy's interrogation process, they did not get any meaningful information. David glanced at him then snorted. He had only heard from the man's adoptive mother how the man was so intoxicated when he was in love. The agent didn't hear much about how Andrew acted when Nina was alive, but it didn't feel much different from what he is seeing now.

"Are you going to have lunch with Macy and Marcus?"

Andrew nodded. "Do you want to come along? Macy won't mind."

"Are you sure?"

"If not, then I won't invite you, David Lee."

"Well, if you say so," said the agent.

Andrew just snorted but then smiled faintly. Along with Macy's reply message that entered his cellphone. He read the message.

From: Love

Can you go pick up Marcus first?

I still need to take care of some things in St. Haven

He frowned slightly at the message. It felt a bit strange that the woman asked him to pick up Marcus. Yesterday she promised the boy to pick him up at school. And even if Macy is still busy at St. Haven, the woman could tell him to wait for her at school.

"Why?"

"Macy asked me to pick up Marcus at school."

"And that's weird?"

Andrew looked at his cousin. They were now standing outside the entrance to the police station.

"She promised Marcus to pick him up at school today. But other than that, I told her about the email last night."

"How did she react?"

"Bad enough," said Andrew as he walked back to the parking lot. It didn't feel good to stand in people's way. "She almost had a panic attack. However, before she lost consciousness, I managed to calm her down. But after that, she immediately contacted Ken to bring Marcus to stay at his parents' house instead of just the two of them at the man's house."

"Well, that's a normal reaction, isn't it?"

"Of course. But after her reaction last night, I don't think she will easily let anyone else pick up her son, except for her or Ken."

One of David's eyebrows rose. "Even you?"

"Including myself. Or maybe even Attorney Kim."

"So we're still going to pick up Marcus?"

Oh, Andrew is also not sure. He could have followed Macy's message – pick up the boy and then they could meet at a restaurant for lunch. But to be honest, it didn't make him feel calm at all. Even if Macy herself asked for it. It felt too weird.

He took a deep breath. "We'll just wait at school. Besides, I'm sure she won't be long in St. Havens."

David nodded. "Alright, it's up to you."
