Andrew knocked on Macy's office. Hani said that the woman locked herself in the study room with the excuse of completing several work emails. But anyone knows that it's just an excuse. So, she asked Andrew to check her condition often. And after Hani left, followed by David who had to return an hour after, he decided to see his girlfriend's condition. Afterall, it's almost dinner time.
"Mace..."
There is no answer whatsoever. He then slowly opened the door and saw that the light in the room was not turned on. But he could see Macy's figure behind the laptop. Andrew walked over to get closer – then realized that Macy was asleep. Well, how she can go back to sleep when she just woke up after thirty hours is still amazing to him.
Andrew took a deep breath. He gently touched Macy's shoulder. Oh, he didn't want to make the same mistake as before. Maybe if he woke her instead of carrying the woman to move her to the room, Macy wouldn't have experienced that episode of hysteria.
"Mace..." Andrew whispered softly.
Slowly, Macy started to wake up. He then pulled his hand from Macy's shoulder. His lover straightened her body and looked at him with half-opened eyes.
"Hey, why are you sleeping here?"
Macy didn't answer anything. She just looked at Andrew –and it seemed that she was still trying to wake up completely. Andrew smiled faintly at Macy's waking expression which looked so sweet.
"Hey, let's get up. I'll make dinner," said Andrew as he walked out of the room.
Macy took a deep breath and followed Andrew. With her half consciousness starting to recover, she didn't understand the man's attitude. The writer acted as if the events of those two days had never happened. He treats her as usual. He smiles at her, talks so softly and even cooks dinner for them. But can they still live this relationship as if nothing happened two days ago?
"Andrew..." Macy said slowly
The man stopped and turned to look at Macy. They are now in the living room. "Yes?"
Macy took a deep breath. Now she is fully awake. And she also knew that Hani must have told Andrew about what happened. But how come the man still hasn't said anything to her? Does Andrew think that if they talk about it again, she will experience hysteria again? Did the man think that she was too weak?
Oh, she hates being seen as a weak woman and she hates Andrew's attitude like this.
"Stop it," she said quietly.
The man's brows furrowed. "Um? Stop what?"
"Stop pitying me, Andrew."
"Mace, what are you talking-"
"Stop! Just stop, okay?" she exclaimed. "Please don't pretend in front of me. It won't make me feel much better."
Andrew didn't say anything. He only noticed his lover's expression. Tired face, pale but at a glance he could see the angry emotion in it. Macy was not only angry with him, but also with herself.
He knows this attitude is a mistake. But he also couldn't let Macy continue to fall into the pit of misery. Compared to being trapped in a situation of suffering because of Katy's actions, being positive is much better. Because in the end, everything will be fine. However, his girlfriend misinterpreted his attitude.
Andrew then approached Macy. He touched his lover's cheek and stroked it gently. "I'm not feeling sorry for you, Mace. And I'm also not pretending that whatever happened yesterday never happened at all. I know you're in a lot of pain, so I behaved as I would treat you normally. No difference. But that doesn't mean I'm so indifferent. I'm sorry if my attitude made you uncomfortable."
Shit! Andrew's explanation made Macy feel much worse. Because now, she is the bad guy. Macy wrongly assumed the man's attitude and now it was the man who apologized instead.
She looked down and leaned her face on her lover's big palm. "Sorry... I'm sorry,"
Andrew sighed and pulled the woman into his arms. Macy buried her face on the man's neck – the man's skin felt so warm and comforting. His perfume smells so familiar to her. Andrew smiled when he felt Macy hug him back – even tighter. He kissed the side of his lover's head gently.
"It's okay. I can understand your attitude. But I hope you talk to me directly, rather than having to assume it yourself," said Andrew while rubbing Macy's back softly.
Macy hides her face even more and this time, in her boyfriend's collarbone. She took a deep breath and mumbled. "I love you..."
Andrew kissed her shoulder in return. "I love you too, love."
"Mommy!!"
Suddenly Andrew and Macy break away from the hug. Both turned towards the door where the little boy ran towards his mother with a big smile on his face. Marcus immediately jumped to ask Macy to carry him.
"Hey sweetheart," said Macy with a smile.
"I miss you so much, mommy! So much!" Marcus exclaimed.
Macy smiled slightly. "Mommy misses you too. So much!"
The boy then turned to Andrew. "Hello, Uncle Andrew."
"Hey, big boy. You came on time. We're just about to prepare dinner," said Andrew while stroking the boy's hair gently.
"Is that true? May I help you, uncle?" Marcus asked enthusiastically.
That made Andrew chuckle. "Of course, you can. But Uncle thinks that you need to change clothes first. You too, Macy. Wash your face first."
Macy nodded then she walked towards Marcus' room still holding her son. Andrew was still smiling until his lover entered Marcus' room. Then he took a deep breath. He turned to the foyer where Ken was still standing there, staring at him intently. Oh, he is sure that the man saw the hug.
Well, he doesn't care about Ken's reaction to that. The man no longer has any rights in Macy's life except as Marcus' father.
"Would you like to come to dinner with us, Writer Reyes?"
