Macy arrived at the court around half-past eleven in the morning. She thought that the trial was over, so she just chose to wait in the car. She texted her lawyer and Ken, saying that she was in the courthouse parking lot. She will probably talk to Hani for a while first, before talking to her ex-husband.

Then a message entered the message box.

From: Author Ken Reyes

I'll meet you at the café near the courthouse.

Well, after the divorce, she changed Ken's contact name to be more professional. Same when their relationship was still limited to editors and writers. She had thought to replace it with 'Marcus' dad', but it seemed so awkward. Before long, a message from Hani also came in.

From: Lawyer Hani Kim

Almost complete.

Do you want to meet me first or talk to your ex-husband directly?

I can give you a brief explanation of what was discussed today after your conversation with Ken.

She then typed a reply to her lawyer.

To: Lawyer Hani Kim

We can talk for a minute.

Ken will be waiting for me at the café near the courthouse anyway.

And after a few minutes, Hani's reply came.

From: Lawyer Hani Kim

In that case, alright. Let's meet first.

Oh yes, before I forgot, Katy is coming. I think you need to know that.

Macy listened to Hani's brief explanation about today's trial. Marcus' social observation schedule has been confirmed. Ken will get the first turn, then her. If everything goes well, Macy's observation schedule will be confirmed for two weeks. Unfortunately, for the next two weeks, she is at her busiest at work.

"It can't be rescheduled?" she asked.

Hani frowned. "I do not know. Are you really that busy?"

She nodded slightly. They were still in the court parking area. She leaned against the body of the car with her lawyer standing in front of her. "We have meetings in preparation for the expo. The events are still a few months away, but St. Haven this time was the guest of honor. The Board of Directors requested to prepare many books of the principal authors of St. Haven. It requires extra preparation. Can I change schedules with Ken? His schedule is much more flexible. Although he will be having a promotion for his new book in the near future, but I can talk to the PR department to clear certain days."

Hani smirked. "Using your title as Chief Editor, apparently. I can't promise anything, but I'll talk to the social service and Ken's lawyer about that."

"Thank you..."

Her lawyer nodded. "And... is there anything else you want to talk to me about?"

"About what?" she frowned.

Oh, Macy still doesn't seem to be open about her feelings. It was none of Hani's business to know, but she needed to find out if it was serious enough.

Moreover, her friend is in the process of fighting for her son's custody. She just doesn't want all of her friend's efforts to end up in vain – be it for Marcus' custody or regarding her feelings.
