When Macy entered her apartment with several bags of groceries, she saw Andrew talking on the phone on the veranda. Without disturbing him, she went straight to the kitchen to put the shopping bag on the counter. Then she went to her son's room to see if the boy was still sleeping.
Well, it's getting late. If he sleeps too long, then she will have a hard time telling him to sleep at night.
However, when she opened the door to Marcus' room, her son had already woken up and had already showered and changed clothes. He was sitting at his desk, reading one of the story books from his bookshelf. She smiled.
"Hey, have you showered?"
Marcus turned and nodded. "Uncle Andrew said mommy went to see aunt Hani."
"Uhm. There's something we need to talk about. Do you want something for dinner?" she asked.
"Ramyeon?"
Macy chuckled. "Besides ramyeon, sweetheart. And something that's not strange."
The boy slightly pouted at his mother's words. What he wanted to eat wasn't strange. Only his mommy whose taste is too ordinary.
"Beef in sweet and sour sauce!"
Macy nodded slightly and closed the door. Then back to the kitchen where Andrew was packing all the groceries from the bag and storing it in the refrigerator. Oh, looks like the writer is done with his phone.
"Marcus wants to eat something?" asked the man.
"Beef in sweet and sour sauce."
Andrew nodded. He took out a bag of meat from the refrigerator and some side ingredients.
"You want something?" he asked again as he prepared the ingredients for the beef marinade.
"Bean sprout soup? Something light. We ate a lot at the picnic, didn't we?"
The man chuckled. "Well, that's true. David's mother prepared a lot of food. While I'm preparing the sweet and sour sauce, you should go take a shower and get some rest."
"I can help you, Drew."
"It's okay, Mace. Rest, your body is still recovering," said Andrew as he took out a bowl to make the marinade. "You must be tired too, Mace."
"But Andrew..."
Well, the man didn't listen to what Macy said. He only focused on preparing the dipping sauce and seemed to ignore the woman who was watching him closely. Even though he wasn't sure, because he had never made beef in sweet and sour sauce before, but he could check the recipe on the internet.
Feeling neglected, Macy took a short breath and went to her room. And after hearing the sound of the door closing, Andrew raised his head and looked at Macy's room door. Taking a deep breath, he took out his cell phone for the recipe.

Jared approached Hani who was sitting alone on the bar stool accompanied by a glass of whiskey. In the midst of a busy bar tonight, the lawyer looks like an outsider. He walked over to the lawyer and sat next to her.
Jared glanced at Hani who just stared at her drinking glass, as if not noticing his arrival.
"Hey..." said the man.
Hani just mumbled and raised her glass to take a slow sip. Jared snorted at the woman's response and he refused the order. Because he has to drive home – and maybe he should take her home too.
"Is there a problem?" he asked.
Hani was the one who snorted this time. "That's an understatement."
"What?"
The lawyer put down the whiskey glass again. "Hey, what's your plan with Macy?"
"Why? Did something else happen to her?"
"Well, nothing bad. Her voice was back, though not completely. Besides, she's starting to recover. But I think you need to think of something for her."
"Speak clearly, Hani Kim. "
Hani sighed and looked at Jared intently. "Katy. She's planning something again for Macy."
"But right now, she's at the police station, how can she-"
"Her accomplice will do it for her."
The director becomes silent. Hani took another sip of her whiskey. Hell, now he understands the gloomy expression on the woman's face as he enters the bar. The atmosphere between them was quiet, even with the loud thumping of music echoing throughout the room with sparkling colorful lights. Even with dozens of people dancing on the dance floor, it seems that Jared and Hani's mood can't change.
Heck, the man wished the lawyer didn't ask him to meet at the bar. He breathed slowly. "Has the Detective been able to track down that person?"
"The Detective has absolutely no clue about that person."
Fuck!
