Hani had just finished her chicken soup when she heard the door open. Hurrying up, she headed to the living room where she saw Andrew supporting Macy to walk. The editor was wearing a black leather jacket – which most likely belonged to the writer – and a baseball cap that partially covered her face. Besides, Macy kept her head down.
She was about to speak, but she saw Andrew who gestured to her not to say anything. The lawyer sighed and nodded slightly. The writer then took Macy to her room while Hani returned to the kitchen to prepare the chicken soup.
And it looks like tonight is going to be a long one.
In the room, Andrew returned to help Macy to sit on the bed. He put the blazer and bag on the other side of the bed, then helped her take off her socks.
"Would you like to have dinner first or take a shower and change? If you want to take a shower first, I will prepare a bathtub," asked Andrew as he took off the left sock.
Then he raised his head to look at Macy. His hand reached out to remove the hat covering his lover's face. Hani hasn't realized it yet. But the lawyer needs to know.
"Lawyer Kim made dinner for you."
"You wanted to tell her, didn't you?"
Andrew nodded. "She is your lawyer and best friend, Macy. If you don't take my advice to report Katy, I think you can talk to her. She will be able to give you a choice regarding your next course of action on that woman. Though I thought it wouldn't make any difference. She will definitely suggest that you also report to Katy."
"But you don't know what happened."
"Therefore, you need to tell us about what happened today. I didn't mean to push you to talk. But the sooner you do it, the better."
Macy sighed. She looked at her hands, avoiding Andrew's eyes. The writer touched her fingers. Even her hands were still cold. Andrew first noticed it when Macy accepted his outstretched hand at the hotel. But it's been almost an hour and her hands are still cold. Her body seems to be still in shock – with whatever Katy did to her.
"I will call Lawyer Kim. You can talk to her first, considering you were much closer to her before our relationship. Okay?" mumbled Andrew.
Macy just nodded slightly.
Andrew then took her hand to kiss the fingers before he left the room. He headed to the kitchen where he saw Hani preparing a bowl of soup and a glass of water for Macy.
"You can bring it and talk to her," said Andrew. "But I have to tell you first,"
The lawyer looked at him seriously. "What?"
"The condition is very bad. If you see it, don't ask anything. Let her talk to you," said Andrew who was greeted by a nod of the head from Hani. "I'll prepare a bath for her to take a bath."
"It's about Katy, right?" Hani asked.
And even though Andrew didn't confirm it, Hani could tell very well. She then took a tray to bring a bowl of soup and a glass of water to her friend's room.
Andrew just stood in the kitchen while exhaling a long breath. He rubbed his tired face. Then he took out his cell phone to call someone.
*****
Hani understood Andrew's words when she stood in front of Macy. But she didn't say anything. She just sat next to Macy and put the tray on her lap. Her best friend hasn't looked at her at all since she entered the room.
