Macy woke up in a room that was so unfamiliar to her. With the sound of the waves crashing so close. She sighed and remembered that she was still at a guesthouse on one of the famous beaches of Bataan. Andrew was the one who rented it. And the man was still with her.
That is what she likes to believe.
After lunch, Andrew insisted on asking her to rest. At least take a nap for an hour or two after a long drive from Manila. And she has no reason to reply to the argument.
Then she took off the blanket and walked out of the room.
When Macy entered the living room, she saw Andrew was focusing on reading a book – maybe from one of the bookshelves in the guesthouse. She watched the man carefully as she smiled. Andrew is still with her.
"You're awake," said Andrew, who noticed Macy standing awkwardly.
Macy mumbled softly then walked towards the sofa. She then sat on the edge of the sofa, slightly away from the man's current position. And the writer looked at her in bewilderment. However, Andrew didn't say anything. He closed his book after placing the bookmark on the unfinished page.
"Are you hungry again?" asked the man.
Macy shook her head. "Have you met the owner of the guesthouse again?"
Andrew smiled faintly. "Yeah, I did. I said I'd stay at least until tomorrow morning. The owner was quite happy and she said she would bring us dinner."
Macy nodded slightly. Then she looked down at her fingers on her lap. This feels so awkward. She can't even put down how their relationship is now. Are they dating? Or...
"Penny for your precious thoughts?" Andrew asked again.
Macy took a deep breath. "No, it's nothing."
Andrew still pays attention to the editor's expression. Macy's face still looks tired, but from her gestures that still keep her distance from him, he can't be sure what the woman is thinking right now.
Then he shifted slightly, approaching Macy who was sitting on the edge of the sofa. Their knees met. Then he touched her hand. "Just say it. Whatever you're thinking, just tell me. We can think about it together. It will be easier that way." He persuaded her.
Macy looked at the man's big hand that touched her fingers. "Are we dating? I mean, do we-"
"You want to date me?"
Macy suddenly looked at Andrew with a gasp. The question was unexpected. After all, she was the first to ask.
Andrew smiled. "Do you want to go on a date with me? We can go somewhere. To a not quite a crowded place. At least we can spend some time together."
"Y-you want to?"
"What do you mean by 'I want to', eh? I invited you, didn't I? Of course, I want to. Even though I can't give you a proper date, what's most important to me is that you're with me."
Macy was silent. A common and traditional date. Well, that's not possible with Andrew's current popularity, they can't appear in public together, can they? Even if they could, it was just a matter of work.
Andrew tilted his head slightly. "Hey, it's okay, isn't it? Or do you want-"
"No problem," Macy said quickly.
That made Andrew smile a little. "Thank you."
Macy mumbled softly. He glanced slightly at the man's hand which was now on her thigh. A warm sensation radiated from the palm of the author's hand and continued to move throughout the editor's body. Her heartbeat was beating loud enough that Macy was sure Andrew could hear it. Heck, back when she was with Ken, it felt like she had never experienced such a huge sensation like this.
"Macy..."
Suddenly Macy lifted her face and found Andrew's face was so close to hers. The man's breath touched her skin warmly. For a moment, she held her breath.
Will Andrew kiss her? Again? Hell, the man had kissed her several times, but how could she still feel so awkward? With her current age, it's a little embarrassing if she acts like a teenage girl who is falling in love for the first time.
Then Macy closed her eyes.
Seeing this, Andrew was a little surprised and tried to hold back his laughter. Well, he didn't want Macy to think that he was humiliating her. The woman reacted like that because she thought Andrew would kiss her.
Heck, that's true. Andrew wanted to kiss Macy. However, is it worth it? Although previously he had kissed her several times, but now he wanted a big difference. They are now dating. They are lovers. Boyfriend and girlfriend. A partner. Whatever the name for their current relationship.
So, he wanted a difference.
"Hey..." Andrew whispered.
Macy just murmured. Her eyes were still closed.
"May I kiss you?"
Andrew could feel Macy's long sigh before she opened her eyes. There was a question mark on her face. Maybe because Andrew asked her a question like that. But again, Andrew wants a difference.
"May I kiss you?" Andrew asked once again.
"You've already kissed me. You know... a couple of days before. And I kissed you too. Why are you..."
Andrew smiled. Macy's face that was lit by the living room light made it seem like it was shining. And he couldn't help himself. With the other hand, he raised his hand to Macy's head to touch the woman's strands of hair that felt soft against his skin.
"Still..." he then mumbled quietly, his hands on Macy's thighs, warm and comfortable, as he leaned forward, pressing her body back until he was on top of her. "May I?"
Macy's breath caught in her throat, her heart pounding in her chest as she looked at Andrew, then realized that she had never wanted anyone else like she wanted the man in front of her. Not even with Ken.
"Yes, you may."
Then Andrew caught her lips with his own, kissing her gently. Macy groaned, wrapping her arm around the man's shoulders to pull him closer as their kiss deepened.
Andrew's weight feels so right on top of Macy, and makes her feel safe and want him even more. His lips taste like the sweetness of sugar, cinnamon and heaven. And Macy drank it all so greedily.
She closed her eyes, she had drifted away and lost in the kiss. It's very easy for her now to drift away in Andrew's arms, forgetting for a moment the bad things in her life and focus her attention on the beautiful and amazing figure in the name of Andrew Coangco.
