Macy stared at her almost empty coffee cup.

She was still at the café when she should have gone back to St. Haven at this time. Heck, even Ken had left the café almost forty minutes before. Yeah, even with such a guilty expression. Because the man had just told her about the biggest lie that Ken had hidden so far. During their divorce proceedings. And she needs some alone time to process all the man's words.

Her cell phone rings a few times. Notifications keep popping up on the phone screen – mostly from St. Haven. And others there are messages from Andrew.

But she has not read any of the messages. Her mind was racing at the moment and she couldn't think straight.

Macy let out a short breath. She looked around the café – some of the visitors might be employees of the court building or several offices in the vicinity – in a fairly crowded condition.

Well, looks like she's not here either.

She grabbed her phone and opened the incoming messages one by one.

-St. Haven Editorial Team Group Chat-

Gil, forward to all emails for me. And send documents from the bank to Lawyer Kim's office. I will not return to St. Haven today.

There's something I have to do.

After sending the message, she then replied to a message from Andrew. However, just as she was about to type something, something seemed to be holding her back. She reread the message sent by her boyfriend. The man asks if they can have lunch together. They can pick up Marcus and have lunch for the three of them before dropping the boy off to Ken's apartment – that's if Marcus still wants to stay with his father.

Macy took a deep breath. She put her phone in her blazer pocket and left the café.

David glanced at Andrew who was so focused on his cellphone. He knows that previously Andrew sent a message to Macy but the editor didn't seem to have replied to the message. And now, he will be going home soon with his parents who are taking care of the last paperwork and some medicines, David can't leave Andrew alone. At least until Macy gave some answers.

"No response from Macy yet?"

Andrew looked up and shook his head. He put his phone in his jeans pocket. "I think she's busy. I'll go first."

Because Andrew knows the trial must be over. It's almost lunch and Macy always says that the trial is never more than two or three hours. So, he assumed, after the trial was over, Macy would immediately return to St. Haven. Because the woman complained about her work piling up during her absence from work.

David took a breath. "You can have lunch with me. Well, you might be able to take me home afterwards."

Andrew smiled. He walked over to his cousin. "Do not worry about me. Enjoy your vacation, David Lee," he said while patting the man's arm.

Then he walked out of the treatment room. Well, he might be able to stop by for a while in St. Haven to see Macy.

*****

But Macy did not return to St. Haven.

"The Chief Editor sent a message that she would not be returning to St. Haven after the trial," Gil said. "She just said that there was something she had to do. Would you like to discuss something with the Chief Editor, Writer Coangco?"

Andrew shook his head. He glanced at Macy's empty room. The woman did not return to St. Haven and didn't even reply to his message. "I just thought I could see her here for a few minutes."
