Macy was almost late.

Today there was a meeting for the expo and she was almost late because last night she was reviewing some of the draft novels she brought home. Around two in the morning, she just got into the blanket and turned off the room light. If it wasn't for the alarm, she would probably have woken up at eight in the morning.

She slightly tidied her hair as she looked for the box of cufflinks she had bought about nine months ago. She never had a chance to give it to her husband then, now her ex-spouse. But she didn't find it on the dresser. And it's impossible for Ken to accidentally bring the cufflink, because their accessories boxes are separate.

Macy gulped when she checked some desk drawers but couldn't find them. Then she turned to the drawer on the nightstand near the bed. Hoping to find the box.

When she opened the first drawer, she was a little surprised when she saw a draft there. She never keeps a draft of a novel in her bedroom drawer. So, it feels really weird. She took out the draft and read the title. At first glance, she frowned.

The title is only one word written in Chinese characters. But Macy knew what it meant. Twilight or crepuscule.

Oh, she didn't have time to think. In the same drawer, she saw the cufflink box she was looking for. Without thinking, she took the cufflink box along with the draft with her.

Heck, she only has fifty minutes to reach St. Haven.

Macy rushed out of the elevator when the door opened. She almost ran towards her room. It's almost time for the meeting and she just arrived. She opened the door a little harshly and almost threw the draft of the novel she was carrying and her briefcase onto the table.

"Ma'am..." Gil said from the doorway.

She turned around. "Give me five minutes, okay?" she said while looking for some documents she needed.

After getting the document, she was about to leave the room but came back to pick up the draft of the novel she found in her room. She gently patted Gil's arm as she walked towards the elevator. Jino and Gil follow her.

"Latest report?" she asked.

Jino opened his notebook while the chief editor pressed the elevator button. "Err.... the PR team decided to send books from five authors. Writer Kang, Writer Marquez, Writer Lim, Writer Solis, and Writer Aquino. St. Haven will send 5 books each."

"What is the title?" Macy asked as she entered the elevator. Followed by Gil and Jino.

"It will be determined by a poll. The possible titles are from old novels that are no longer published. St. Haven is thinking of reprinting with the latest version," Jino answered.

She nodded. "Is one month enough to prepare everything?"

"Sir Martinez said that the printing team had filled the quota for distribution for two months from the novel project to be released. So, one month will be enough," Gil replied.

She nodded again. And then the atmosphere inside the elevator became silent. Jino stood behind, while Gil was one step behind her. Since the incident a few days ago, Gil seems to be careful with her. Even so, she will not blame him. Because she herself didn't talk to Gil about what he saw the other day.

Macy took a deep breath and waited for the elevator to stop.

Macy couldn't concentrate.

Hell, to be honest, for the past few days, she hasn't been able to work well at all. Since that night, she couldn't work even though she forced herself because there were many things that needed to be done. And even since that night, she rarely saw Andrew or communicated with her boyfriend.

It's been two days.

Andrew only sent messages a few times and even sent food to her apartment but they never met. Either the man entered her apartment in the morning before she woke up or when she was still in St. Haven. Heck, she feels like she's a little annoyed that she told Andrew about her apartment door code if the situation is like this.

Maybe it was because of their conversation that night. When she confronted Andrew because her lover didn't continue their sexual activity. Even though the man argued that it was for her sake, she was so stubborn. They argued a little until finally Andrew chose to return to his apartment. Then they haven't seen each other again to this day.

That's very childish, according to her. Who would fight just because of that? Especially with her horny condition. At that time, she was tired and so stressed.

Her boyfriend who kissed her for the first time, even asked her to kiss him back. Then when her passion was up there, the man suddenly reasoned that they couldn't continue because she needed a break.

Heck, then why did he have to kiss her? Then why to this day, the man seems to be avoiding her?

Macy took a deep breath. She glanced at the print-out of the latest report for the expo that had been prepared by the PR team. She is not at all interested in reading it now. She will just do it later.

Then, her focus shifted to the draft of the novel she found in her bedroom. Slightly glancing at the junior editor who was doing a presentation, she then pulled the novel and started reading it.

She doesn't even care if Jared keeps an eye on her.

David thanked the person behind the cashier as he took his coffee order. He then walked to the table where Andrew was waiting for him. Today, his cousin said that he didn't want to be stuck in the studio and chose to go to some public places. Even though they are both aware that there were some who still followed him. But since the obsessive fan case was revealed, they have kept their distance from the writer more.

It made Andrew much better.

David put a cup of coffee in front of Andrew and he sat across from the writer. He then took a sip slowly. Likewise, with his cousin. He then tried to observe the situation around them. There are many who are taking photos of Andrew. Well, he just needs to check his social media later today.

"So do you have a problem?" asked the agent.

The man glanced at him briefly. "No, I don't. Why do you ask?"

David shrugged as he leaned back in the chair. His hand was still gripping the coffee cup tightly.

"I don't know, just a hunch. Besides, you've been acting weird these days."

"I'm behaving strangely? In what way?"

David nodded as he took another sip of his latte. "You never bother Macy again. I mean, usually you're so worried about her. But lately, you've been just busy with yourself. Especially with what happened to her before."

"Not really. I always make sure that she eats regularly. Besides, if I keep following her, it will only make me look very possessive. Macy has her own work and I don't want to bother her by always sticking to her side," said Andrew.

Oh, that sounds reasonable to David. But it's too cliché as the man's excuse. This isn't the first time Macy has been hurt, but Andrew always makes sure that he is by her side for at least a week. However, the situation now was different.

There's something going on between them and Andrew was avoiding Macy. Whatever reason the writer gave, the agent could see it well.
