CHAPTER EIGHTY FIVE

Finally, Andrew breathed a sigh of relief when he saw David awake. Last night, the hospital contacted him and said that David had woken up. So, very early in the morning, he went to the hospital. His condition is getting better. Even David's face doesn't look as pale as yesterday.

David opened his eyes and saw Andrew sitting on the side of his bed. He took a short breath.

"Have you had your breakfast?"

"That's your first question after coming to your senses?" said Andrew.

David smiled faintly. "No. My first question when I woke up was whether you had returned to your apartment? If you don't believe me, you can ask the nurse."

"Tch... how do you always do that to me?"

"Do what?"

"Putting me as your top priority."

David sighed and closed his eyes for a moment. "Don't think too highly, Andrew. You're not always my top priority," he said, opening his eyes again. "I'm just being professional at work. And you can't take care of yourself anyway. I'm sure you haven't eaten since yesterday, have you?"

Andrew snorted. But he looked down a little. David has known him for too long. So, Andrew will find it difficult to find a reason to dodge. "Macy made sure that I went to dinner with her and Marcus."

"Good, then," his cousin said quietly.

He then looked at David. "St. Haven will report this incident to the police station. They think that the coffee incident and Macy's car incident are related."

"Of course, they will report it. It's been four times, Andrew. Well... at least four events that we know about. The juice contains aphrodisiacs, bloody balloons, car vandalism, and yesterday's coffee incident. I'm sure St. Haven got some obsessive fans attacked but they kept it a secret from us," said David.

"Shouldn't it be five? Macy's beating-"

"I don't want to assume that it was also the work of the obsessive fans, Andrew."

"But Macy's car vandalism..."

"There were so many cars in the parking area at that time. You're at that location and they might just pick one of the cars you might be driving at the time. Coincidentally it's Editor Cruz's."

"But out of the four, all of them involve Macy."

David sighed. The man seems to be getting paranoid. Of course. In every country they visit, there must be some incidents involving obsessive fans. But in Manila, this is much worse and in fact the frequencies are quite close together. Hell, he was even quite surprised to see Andrew who didn't cancel the rest of the promotion schedule after yesterday's incident – or even since the incident that destroyed Macy's car.

"The first incident, it was accidental. Part of the fault lies with Macy. Then the second incident, she could have pushed you further than she had to accept the balloon toss. But I wouldn't blame her, because it happened so fast. If I realized it, I would have done the same thing as she did."

"Then what about you? The coffee should be me drinking it."

David frowned. "If you drank it, then the one lying here is you. Don't blame yourself for that. Your intuition yesterday was very good, Andrew. Maybe I shouldn't drink it."
