Ken walked into Andrew's apartment unit. He did not pay much attention to the interior of the unit. He just followed the man who walked into the kitchen. The writer opened the refrigerator and took out two cans of beer.

"Do you want to drink?" Andrew offered after closing the refrigerator door and handing a can of beer to him.

Ken shook his head. "I'm driving."

The writer just shrugged his shoulders. He put one can on the counter and opened another, then slowly slid it in. Ken watched the man closely. The man who just came to Manila two months ago to promote his novel. But within those two months, he already had an intimate relationship with his ex-wife.

Heck, Ken had no idea what had happened to the two of them during those two months. He felt so lost in Macy's life. Hell, he didn't even know that Macy would also fall in love again this fast.

"What's your relationship with Macy?"

Andrew glanced at Ken. Oh, he didn't know that he wouldn't waste time asking about his relationship with his ex-wife. Andrew sighed and put the beer can down.

He noticed half of the beer in the can was left. "Would you like to guess? Are we only colleagues? Neighbor? Friends?" he said quietly. Then he raised his head to look at Ken seriously. "Or maybe we are lovers."

Ken remains silent. As if the writer's last words were not a surprise to him at all. But inside him, all of his emotions are raging. Surprise, worry, anger, curiosity, and even relief all become one.

After their divorce, Ken didn't feel strange if the woman would open her heart to someone else. But not so quickly and with someone he never expected. A man she just knew a couple of months ago.

Andrew Coangco.

How can they be in a relationship in such a short time?

"You're full of questions," Andrew then commented after a pregnant pause.

Ken blinked. Oh, looks like the man is so sensitive to read someone's mind. "Of course. Two months is not a long time."

Andrew smiled faintly. "But that's enough time for the both of us."

"But Macy is not the type of woman who falls in love easily."

The writer sighed. He sat on one of the stools and stared at the man intently. This will be a long conversation. "Of course. But I'm not saying that she's in love with me."

"But you said that you-"

"I fell in love with her," said Andrew quickly. "However, she might need some time to confirm her feelings for me. She did say that she loves me. But is that enough? Because even for eight years you and Macy loved each other, but in the end your marriage ended. I'm not saying that our relationship will last forever, but I will keep what I have now."

"Macy,"

Andrew nodded. "And Marcus, of course. I will take care of both of them. And I will do my best to protect them and to be with them as long as I can. Something you should have done before."

Ken's eyes widened. "I did! I try to take care of them-"

"Not enough, Ken! You may have done it but it was not enough."

Ken was silent with Andrew's firm words.

"You did try to take care of the two of them. Trying to protect them. Only for eight years and after that what have you done? You gave up, right?" said Andrew again.
