(The song you sing is "The Willow Maid" by Erutan.)

"Y/N, lass, tell us a story?" Bofur asked with a smile. You couldn't help but return the grin. The Company had come to love your stories since you joined them on their quest. The others told stories as well, but they tended to linger on yours. Maybe it was because you didn't just tell stories. You sang them. The rest of the Company hung on every word, but none more than Fili. He listened intently and he felt every word. Tonight was no different.

You were running out of stories to tell, at least happy ones, so you had to wrack your brain for something new. After thinking and thinking, you finally picked one. "Alright. One story tonight. I do not believe I shall be able to tell another after this." Once everyone was gathered, you took a deep breath and began to sing.

A young man walked through the forest
With his quiver and hunting bow
He heard a young girl singing
And followed the sound below
There he found the maiden
Who lives in the willow

He called to her as she listened
From a ring of toadstools red
'Come with me my maiden
Come from thy willow bed'
She looked at him serenely
And only shook her head.

'See me now, a ray of light in the moondance
See me now, I cannot leave this place
Hear me now, a strain of song in the forest
Don't ask me, to follow where you lead'

Bofur had picked up the melody and began to play softly on his flute. You smiled and continued your song. Fili was standing a little ways off, his heart clenching. He could feel that the story wasn't going to have a happy ending, much like yours and his.

A young man walked through the forest
With a flower and coat of green
His love had hair like fire
Her eyes an emerald sheen
She wrapped herself in beauty
So young and so serene

He stood there under the willow
And he gave her the yellow bloom
'Girl my heart you've captured
Oh I would be your groom'
She said she'd wed him never
Not near, nor far, nor soon

'See me now, a ray of light in the moondance
See me now, I cannot leave this place
Hear me now, a strain of song in the forest
Don't ask me, to follow where you lead'

For many months now, Fili felt like the young man in the story. He had tried so hard to tell you how he felt, but little things you would do would discourage him. It wasn't that you were purposely rejecting him as he hadn't actually told you yet. But it was like you were telling him no anyway.

A young man walked through the forest
With an axe sharp as a knife
I'll take the green-eyed fairy
And she shall be my wife
With her I'll raise my children
With her I'll live my life

The maiden wept when she heard him
When he said he'd set her free
He took his axe and used it
To bring down her ancient tree
'Now your willow's fallen
Now you belong to me'

'See me now, a ray of light in the moondance
See me now, I cannot leave this place
Hear me now, a strain of song in the forest
Don't ask me, to follow where you lead'

Your song spoke to Fili in a way that hadn't before. If he wanted you, he'd have to show you how much. He'd have to do whatever it took to make you understand how much he loved you.

She followed him out the forest, and collapsed upon the earth
Her feet had walked but a distance, from the green land of her birth she faded into a flower, that would bloom for one bright eve
He could not take from the forest, what was never meant to leave

As you finished the story, Fili could feel your anguish. He glanced up briefly to see you (e/c) eyes already on him, tears flowing down your face. You weren't the only one. Even Bofur had unshed tears glistening in his eyes. "That was beautiful, lass, though very sad." You gave him a sad smile and got up from your seat. You walked away from the camp, prompting Fili to follow.

Fili found you easily enough. You hadn't gone far. "Y/N?" You looked at him. "What can I do for you, Fili?" He took a step closer to you. "You can let me tell you what I've been dying to tell you for months." You waited patiently for him to continue. "I love you. I want you for my own. To be mine, for the rest of our lives."

"My song prompted you to tell me that you love me? Were you even listening?" you quipped and Fili snapped. His arms lashed out, caging you between him and the tree you were leaning against. "Are you the maid in the willow? Would it kill you to come with me?" His voice was low. He sounded dangerous. You loved it. You loved Fili. You always had. "I am not," you whispered.

Fili's mouth stretched into a predatory grin. "Tell me to go, Y/N." You shook your head. "I'll follow where you lead, Fili." His lips crashed into yours, his hands traveling down to grip your hips firmly, so you couldn't leave even if you wanted to.

Over and over your lips met in a frenzied passion. You couldn't get enough of the feeling of his lips on yours. It was like oxygen, you needed it to survive. Things probably would have gone further if not for the sound of someone clearing their throat. You broke away from Fili to see the cheeky smirks of the Company. "Finally got the nerve ta ask her, huh Fili?" Bofur asked and you buried your head in Fili's shoulder. You were never going to hear the end of this.
