ALIA

STEPHEN FELL ASLEEP AGAIN.
His arm is wrapped tightly around my waist, his head resting on my chest. I ran my hand through his hair slowly as I stared up at the ceiling. My lips still tingled from the kiss we shared earlier.

It's strange. I can't bare anyone touching me, it makes me panic. Yet, here he is. Stephen touched me and I didn't recoil from his touch. I missed it. But I know things between us won't be like it use to be. Things have changed, we have changed.

Just as I'm about to drift off the phone started ringing making Stephen groan. I glanced down at him, my lips pulling up into a smile. He's pouting, his brows pulling down into a frown. I debated on just letting it ring, because I'm really comfortable right now.

"Alia." Stephen turned his head his breath fanning against my nipple. "Get the phone."

"Get up." I breathed pushing against his chest.

With a groan he pushed himself up. His eyes caught mine, for a moment the ringing phone is forgotten. As it kept on ringing my mind registered that it could be my dad again. He's the only one that let's it ring this long.

I got up from the couch walking into the kitchen. Picking up the phone I glanced at the number before answering.

"Alia!" The voice is panicked, hoarse. "Dad- Sam... They..."

"Slow down Emma." I said softly leaning against the counter. "Take a deep breath, then tell me what happened."

I heard her suck in a deep breath, and another but then the sob fell from her lips. My stomach turned, heartbeat escalating. I gripped the marble of the counter tightly.

"Dad has been in an accident a-and Sam was w-with h-him."

The phone slipped from my hand, legs giving away beneath me. All I can hear is her words repeating over and over in my head. Are they okay? What happened?

Stephen appeared by my side, one hand cupping my cheek and the other picking up the phone. I heard him talking, keeping his eyes locked with mine. Once he hung up, his other hand cupped my cheek.

"Alia, baby." He moved closer. "I need you to listen to me."

I nod his image turning blurry as tears started to fill my eyes. With shaky hands I reached up to touch his cheeks.

"Baby, listen to me."

I sucked in a shaky breath, blinking the tears away. Leaning forward he placed a kiss against my forehead. I gripped his wrist tightly trying to get a hold of reality. My father and my sister...

"Alia, I spoke to Patrick." Stephen said softly his thumb wiping a tear away. "He said it's not to serious. Sam and your father will be okay."

"P-promise?"

Nodding he pulled me up and then against his chest. His arms wrapped around my waist, lips brushing my ear as he whispered soothing words. By the time I've finally wrapped my head around what had happened, Stephen had already booked the tickets. I walked into my bedroom grabbing a bag and packing some clothes.

"The plane leave's in an hour." He said entering the room eyes glancing around.

I bit my lip, sniffing. Is this where our paths split up again? Is he going to walk out of my life, just like that?

"Stephen." I ran a hand through my hair, my eyes dropping. "P-please don't leave me."

A finger under my chin made me look up at him. His eyes are sober, face expressionless. His green eyes trailed over my face.

"You know this can't work, Alia."

My heart tightened new tears filling my eyes.

"We can't take this further. I'll come along with you, but only as a friend Alia, nothing more."

"Only friends."

I

CALLED MY WORK on the way to the airport, explaining what had happened. After taking about two week's leave, I promised to let her know if there's any change. We stopped at Stephen's flat on our way, he grabbed some clothes and his passport.

After asking he told me that he's only in London for a few weeks for work. Stephen said nothing more, he made sure to change the subject. An hour later we sat on the plane, first class. I stared silently out the window watching the endless white clouds.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" The words slipped from my mouth before I could stop it.

"No."

I smiled. "Nobody else got caught in your web?"

"Alia." Stephen said softly, his voice low but stern. "I don't want to talk about it."

"You don't want to talk about a lot of things." I turned my head, glancing up at him.

Our eyes locked. The air around us changed as sexual tension charged between us. Just like that day, years ago, when we first met. I sucked in a shaky breath as he leaned down, lips next to my ear.

"For the sake of both our-" He paused placing a hand on my thigh. "Don't make this any harder than it already is, baby."

I nod numbly, placing my hand on top of his. Spreading my legs a little wider, I guided his hand higher and under my dress. His fingers traced the band of my panties making a gasp fall from my lips. It's been so long since I've felt the pleasure, I felt with him.

My stomach tightened, heat pooling between my legs. My heartbeat escalated as he traced my lips, one finger finding my pulsing clit.

"Stephen." I whispered leaning closer to him.

"So wet." His voice is husky, lips brushing my ear as he spoke. "Is this for me baby?"

He moved my panties aside making me tense slightly. I sucked in a shaky, my eyes fluttering close. Sucking my earlobe into his mouth, he slowly slipped a finger inside my pussy. I gripped his wrist tightly. He pulled back, slowly entering before pulling away completely.

"We can never just be friends."
