Aswang, Manananggal and the like...

I had a cousin who saw a manananggal flying outside his dad's office somewhere near España and the border of Quezon City and Sampaloc area. This happened back in the early 80's when he was just six years old - he was playing with his yaya on the 2nd floor or bodega of the office at around 9pm. He stopped at the window for a while and saw a 'giant bird'. Tinuro pa niya sa yaya niya - "YAYA OH ANG LAKI NG IBON." The yaya contradicted and told him birds don't usually fly at night. Baka paniki pa yun. When they looked closely, ang laki daw ng ibon with black eyes (as in walang white portion mga mata pero alam nilang nakadirect ang tingin sa kanila) and pointy teeth na naglalaway.

Katabi kasi ng bintana eh stairs na nasa 18-20 steps. Sa sobrang takot niya, tinalon niya from the 20th step up to the ground floor. Hindi raw niya makakalimutan yung nakita niya. Since then, andami na niyang nakikitang paranormal and supernatural stuff.

I just have a question: mga may third eye lang ba ang nakakakita nito unless magparamdam talaga sayo? May nagsabi kasi sa akin ang mga gifted people lang (tulad ng cousin ko) ang nakakakita ng mga mananaggal na lumilipad around the city. And meron ding pantawag sa kanila. At sabi nila very fierce din daw ito as in it can lift a car and throw it.

Another encounter of these creatures pero sa aswang naman: I had 2 uncles who lived near Sta. Lucia East. It was around 2 AM and both were on their way home from an inuman. So they were walking in this narrow alley pauwi nang may nakasalubong silang sexy na babae with long hair and wearing all white. Tito 1 elbowed Tito 2 and told him to check out the chick.

When they looked back, they said they literally saw the woman transform into a black dog. Upon transformation, the dog looked back and stared at them. My 2 uncles were very terrified that they ran to their house (which was a few meters away na lang) screaming and banging the gate. Eh since tulog na mga tao, inakyat daw nila yung gate sa sobrang takot! Pagpasok daw nila, sobrang pawis at hingal sila at sure na raw mga pinsan ko na nawalan na sila ng amats dahil sa sobrang pawis. Hehe.
