It's a warm, sunny day, and Cass invites you over. You were planning on spending the whole day with Hiro, but something came up. Again. Hiro hasn't been around lately. It makes you nervous. Stress from work, you guess. But what could make your boyfriend cancel on you so many times in one month? You haven't seen him in weeks.

That hurts, bad.

Still, you head over to Cass's. She has planned a whole day of the normal "girly" plans. Hot tea and pastries to be eaten under the sun. Cheesy and adorable romantic movies. Chocolate covered strawberries and lemonade for movie refreshments. You're pretty excited. Since Hiro's been avoiding you, the human contact you've had lately has been close to none.

Cass is excited, too. She keeps you busy. She's talking so excitedly. It's really just confusing. What could possibly be going on that's so wonderful?

"Oh, ___, you look lovely today!" She exclaims. You're sitting in front of her. The sun shines in your eyes.

You look down at your completely average outfit. "Um, thanks?"

She babbles on and on about the weather and Mochi and the cafe's business and the new recipe for apple turnovers that she found and finally, you interrupt her.

"Um, about Hiro."

She looks down. She fidgets a little. "What about him?"

"He's been. . . avoiding me, lately." You look down at your hands. Cass sips her tea. "I'm worried about him."

"Oh, sweetie. You're overreacting. Hiro's just been. . . busy."

"I don't know. He just seems-"

"Oh, look who it is!" Cass leaps out of her chair. You turn to see Hiro, a smile on his face. "I'll leave you two alone." She walks inside. Hiro hands you a bouquet of roses. You resist the urge to throw your arms around him. You love him, but you're supposed to be mad at him, right?

"Hey," He says softly.

"Hey," You reply.

"I'm sorry," He tells you.

"Sorry for what? Avoiding me or - wait, that's it. I can't be mad at you for anything else when you're not around."

"So you're mad?"

You sigh. "No. Yes. I don't know."

"Well," He says. "Guess this whole plan isn't going out as I hoped."

"What plan?" You ask.

"___," He says. He takes your hand and pulls you up. "I am sorry that I have been avoiding you. Besides being busy, I'm nervous. I've been planning this for weeks."

"This? You planned for Cass to invite me over? This doesn't even make sense, Hiro."

"Just listen," He mumbles. "I love you, ___. I love you more than anyone. I want you to know that I never meant to hurt you. I want to be with you forever. I want to wake up every morning with you by my side."

"Hiro," You whisper.

He strokes your cheek. "___." He drops on one knee. "Will you marry me?"

You gasp and drop the bouquet of roses. Tears spring in your eyes. All of your hurt and anger melt away. You lean down and kiss Hiro roughly, tangling your fingers in his hair. You pull away, sobbing.

"Is. . . that a yes?" Hiro smiles.

You try to speak, but you can't find the words. You nod, covering your mouth with your hand. Hiro smiles and stands. He wraps his arms around you and pulls you into a kiss. "I love you," You choke out.

"I love you, too," He whispers back. He kisses your cheek. "So, so much."

You tighten your arms with him. You can't believe that you're going to spend forever with Hiro.
