Hiro had been told all morning about a new girl who'd be coming to SFIT. She was supposed to be brilliant, a wonderful inventor and robotics enthusiast much like himself.

The girl was you, and you were shaking with nervousness and excitement and you ran up the sidewalk towards the building of SFIT. You paused at the front door, trying to gather up some courage. You could do this. You were an inventor, you belonged here! Nothing should keep you from living your dream. You take a deep breath and smile before pushing the door open.

Three steps in and a figure almost runs into you. "Coming through!" A female voice shouts. She was moving so fast- She was a blur. She skids to a stop and jumps off of her bike, smiling. "Hey, you the new girl?"

"Uh, yeah, that's me," You say, stepping forward to shake her hand. "I'm ___."

"Yeah, I heard. I'm Go Go, by the way. C'mon, I'll introduce you to my friends." She blows a pink bubble and pops it before chewing the gum rapidly.

She walks close to a man at a desk who is working with lasers. "Stay behind the line, please," He warns, gesturing to the white line that divides his space from everyone elses.

"Wasabi, this is ___," Go Go says. "___, Wasabi."

"Hey, Wasabi." You wave. He gives you a friendly smile before returning to his work.

"And this," Go Go says, taking your arm and leading you into a lab where two people stand. "This nitwit in the lizard costume is Fred."

"Uh, it's kaiju, not lizard," He says, stepping forward. "Name's Fred."

"Nice costume," You comment.

"Hello, ___," A tall girl says cheerfully. "I'm Honey Lemon. It's so great to meet you!"

"Oh, you too," You say awkwardly.

"Now I'll show you your lab partner. Just over here." Go Go leads you away and you wave at Fred and Honey Lemon as you walk off. "Hey, Hiro!" She says. "She's here."

A boy with messy dark hair and big brown eyes puts down his screwdriver and robot, walking to you. He smiles and says, "Hey. I'm Hiro."

"___," You say. "When do we get started?"

"Hiro, I'm going to need to see that prototype again," You say, your eyes still on the half build robot.

"On it," He says, running to the desk. He carries it back to you carefully and you begin to work swiftly on building the robot. He can't help but stare at you. Your big (e/c) eyes wide in anticipation, your eyebrows pushed together in concentration. He'd had a crush on you since the first week you'd come to SFIT, which was four months ago.

And in those four months you developed a crush on him as well. Hiro was a wonderful friend. He was always trying to prove that he could do more, always trying new things. You tagged along, supporting him with whatever crazy idea the kid had. And anytime you had a crazy idea, he'd be there with you.

You notice him staring and look up at him quickly, smiling. "Have anything better to do than stare, Hamada?"

He blushes. "Well, what do you need, (last_name)?"

"I need you to hold this robot while I attach the wires," You say, moving over so Hiro can get to the robot. Hiro grabs it and you nod. "Hold it there. Perfect. Okay." You begin to attach the wires carefully, getting distracted when you see Hiro staring at you. The distraction causes your finger to slip, and you are shocked by the wire. "Ow!" You shout, grabbing your finger in your hand and wincing. Hiro drops the robot on the table and steps closer to you, taking your hand in his.

"You okay?" He asks, clearly concerned.

"Yeah, fine. It's all good." You smile at him and he returns the smile.

"___?" He asks quietly.

"Yeah?" You ask.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course," You say.

"I was uh- I was... I was wondering if, maybe, you wanted to go out sometime? As more than friends?" He sighs, preparing for your answer.

"Oh, yeah, sure," You say happily.

"Cool," He breathes, a grin growing across his face.

"I'm shocked that you'll ask me that after I've been shocked. Now, I'm going to go run my hand under cool water since it feels like my finger is on fire," You laugh. "I'll be right back." You reach up and kiss Hiro quickly on the cheek before walking off to the bathroom.

"Yes!" He exclaims, punching the air cheerfully like a dork.
