(101): You Can Change (Part Three)

Part Three of You Can Change as requested! I was thinking about making a story all its own that's a villain reader x Tadashi or Fred, but I'm not sure I can find the time with my school stress. We'll see. ^-^

You and Freddie suit up. The two of you walk down the darkened sidewalks, one hand around his blue claw, the other around the crowbar that's held closely to your side.

Fred whispers excitedly, "I can't believe we're doing this! I'm a villain! I-I'm like Electro! MODOK! Green Goblin! Venom! Loki! Thanos!"

You laugh. "You're too adorable when you're a dork."

"I'm just seriously excited. A comic book shop break in!"

"Well, quiet down. We've got to sneak in the window." You release his claw as the comic book comes into view. "Ready for your first task, Freddie?"

"Of course!" Fred exclaims.

"Alright. I need you to use your super jump to break the security cameras. A super quick super jump."

"Can do!" Fred leaps up, breaking each security and surveillance camera around the shop. He returns, striking a pose as his feet hit the sidewalk.

You laugh again, covering your mouth with your hand to muffle the sound. "Dork. Be quiet."

"Sorry," He mutters.

You sneak around the side of the building until you reach a small window. It's a little out of your reach. "Um, Freddie? A little help?"

Fred squats on the ground, letting you use him as a stool. You pry the window open with the crowbar. You gently slide the glass up and drop your black backpack inside. You squirm your way inside.

After you're in, you set the crowbar down. "Okay, Freddie," You call out to him with a whisper. He scrambles up into the building. You bend down to retrieve your crowbar and backpack.

"So what's the plan?" He asks.

"You just- go crazy. Collect your whatever. You earned it." You pat his arm. "I'll raid the cash register.

Fred wasn't sure. "Um, I don't know. . ."

"Don't know what?" You question.

"Look, i-if you need money, just ask me. I can't steal money from these people. I know them."

"Freddie," You whisper.

"Look-- I- I can't do this."

"Freddie!"

"I'm gonna go apologize to everyone." He removes the top half of his suit. "Let's go."

"I'm not leaving. Freddie, this is what I do. I-If you can't accept that-"

"What?"

"I'm staying." You turn away.

"Fine," Fred whispers. "I'll have to take you away then."

"What-" Fred wraps his arms around your waist and starts to back towards the window. "Fred! This isn't fair! Let me go!"

Fred drags you out the window. You release your arm from his grasp and swing around, punching his mouth. Surprised, he staggers back.

You gasp. Your hands are shaking. Tears fill your eyes. "I-I'm sorry. I-I didn't- oh God, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to-"

Fred shakes his head. "No. It's my fault. I shouldn't of dragged you away like that."

"You shouldn't of tried to change me," You say. "Be a hero, Fred. I don't want to ruin your life."

"___, you don't ruin my life!"

"Bye, Fred." You give him a small smile and run off.

"___, wait!" You don't listen. Fred stands there, frowning.

The team was mad, obviously. Not at Fred. At you. You knew that they would be. Fred called, but you didn't answer. Eventually he came over and knocked on your door. You ignored him.

A couple of days later, you head out in dark clothes. It felt good to get out and actually do something for once. Currently, you had an unconscious man before you. You lift him by his jacket and drag him into an alley. You grab his wallet and briefcase and run away.

Until you're stopped abruptly by Fred. He stands before you, hands up in the air. "What are you doing?" You hiss.

"I came to see you. I've been looking everywhere."

"What?" You whisper.

"Look, I don't care that you're a villain. I don't care. I love you, ___. I will always love you and there's nothing you can do about it."

"Freddie," You whisper.

"A-and I don't care what the others think of you. You're beautiful and smart and strong-- and I am in love with you." He pauses.

You hug him. "I love you too. So, even though you're a hero and I'm a bad guy, you want to be with me?"

"I always want to be with you."

"Freddie," You say, pressing your face in his t shirt. "I love you so much. You'll always be my hero."

"And-- you'll always be my villain, I guess?" He laughs.

You laugh with him and reach up to kiss his cheek. "Yup." He cradles your face in his hands and kisses you softly. "I'm your villain."
