Part two of Moving as requested! Enjoy! (Unedited).
It's almost midnight and Wasabi is still up. Normally, he's in bed by ten to insure that he gets the recommended eight hours of sleep before classes. Today, however, he waits for your call. You left just hours before, and you should've landed in (hometown) already. You're time was a few hours ahead of San Fransokyo's.
As midnight slowly changed to one in the morning, Wasabi slowly fell into panic. Nothing went wrong, right? What if something did? What if the next time he saw you, it was to observe your lifeless body laying in a casket? That last kiss-- was it really the last kiss?
Wasabi's phone vibrates. He answers it immediately. "Hello?"
"Hey," You answer. "You're up."
"I told you that it didn't matter how late it was. I couldn't sleep without knowing that you were okay."
"Well, I'm okay," You say. "Our second plane was delayed. I'm kinda tired."
"Get some sleep, ___," Wasabi says.
"I can't. I miss you, Wasabi."
"I miss you too," He whispers.
"How are we gonna see each other?" You ask brokenly.
Wasabi sighs. "I can. . . work extra and I'll fly out there to be with you for a week."
"But, Wasabi, your schoolwork-"
"Can wait," Wasabi finishes. You start to object. "I have been a model student from the beginning. Leaving for a week to spend time with you wouldn't be a big deal."
"Okay," You say.
~
Six months. It's been six months since you've seen Wasabi. In those six months you managed to get even closer to him, which was surprising. The two of you talked on the phone for hours each day, and even whole nights and days on the weekends.
On your last birthday, your (parent[s]/guardian) gave you the exact money for a plane ticket to San Fransokyo. It was the best present ever; you were determined to see him as soon as possible.
However, it kept getting pushed back. Soon enough, it was exactly a year since the last you saw him. You decide to buy the plane ticket. You couldn't wait any longer.
You call him that evening. "Wasabi," You greet.
"Yes?" He answers.
"You don't happen to have the ability to keep your week free, do you?"
"Well, um, it'd mess up my entire schedule. I have a system-- wait! Why?"
You bite your lip. "I'm. . . coming to San Fransokyo."
"No way! When?"
"Tomorrow. That's when I leave."
"Oh, man! Yes, yes, yes! You have no idea how happy you've made me! I've wanted to see you for so long now."
"I know. I need to sleep. My plane takes off first thing in the morning. I love you, Wasabi."
Wasabi tells you that he loves you before you hang up. You pack your suitcase and fall into bed, the normal 'before vacation' excitement making your stomach flutter.
~
Wasabi waits for you in the airport. He spots you as you drag your suitcase with you. "___!" He shouts, his heart fluttering wildly.
You see him and break into a run. "Wasabi!" As soon as you reach him, you drop your suitcase and leap into his arms. He holds you tightly against him, lifting you into the air. His lips find yours immediately.
The two of you completely melt into the embrace. Nothing else mattered in the world. You're safe with Wasabi; he's safe with you.
You pull away, blinking away tears of joy. Wasabi strokes your cheek, his other hand resting lightly on your waist.
"You're even more beautiful than I remembered," He whispers. You laugh and shake your head. "It's true. I missed seeing you, ___."
"And I missed seeing you, Wasabi," You whisper, reaching up to kiss him again.
~
That night, you're sitting at Wasabi's kitchen table, watching him prepare your favorite meal for you. He sets the food on a plate and places it in front of you before making a plate of his own. As soon as he sits, you take one of his hands underneath the table.
You start eating, taking your time with the meal. Wasabi brings up how your other friends have been; Honey's new chemical concoctions, Go Go's new speed on her bike, Fred's new collection of comics, Hiro's progress at SFIT.
"Sounds like everyone's getting on with their lives just fine without me."
Wasabi smiles. "We all missed you very much. Especially me." Wasabi leans across the table and kisses you. "I don't want you to ever leave again."
You sigh. "Sorry, Wasabi. Nothing's looking like it's going to change. I'll be in (hometown) for a long while."
"No. I simply cannot accept that." Wasabi stands.
"What are you doing?" You ask.
"Changing things up," He says. He pulls out a black box and gets down on one knee. You gasp. "___, I never ever want to be without you again. Will you marry me?"
You start crying tears of joy again. "Yes," You breathe. You hug Wasabi tight. Soon enough, there'd be nothing to keep the two of you apart. You're going to marry your best friend.
