(166): New Family (Part Two)

Part two of New Family! ^-^ So yeah, Stan Lee (Fred's father) is in this. Totally amazing, I know.

--Months After--

"Hey, ___?" Fred calls from the hallway. "Where are you, love?"

"In here, Freddie," You say. You smile at (baby_name) as you change (her/him) into (her/his) outfit.

Fred walks into the bedroom and smiles. "What're you doing?" He asks.

"Getting ready, of course," You say.

Fred leans over the bed where (baby_name) gazes up at him in awe. "Are you getting ready with your mommy? Huh?" The baby laughs and Fred kisses his (son/daughter)'s forehead. "Anyways," Fred says. "Dad called me today."

"He did?" You ask, very surprised.

"Yeah. Well, he still hasn't seen (baby_name), and the last time he saw us was our wedding. Mom hasn't seen us either. . . so they invited us to dinner."

"So now they're suddenly interested in our (daughter/son)?"

"___," Fred says quietly. "Please."

You sigh. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't be angry. They are your parents, after all." You lean in and kiss Fred. "I'm sorry."

Fred kisses you again. "There's nothing to be sorry for." Fred takes (baby_name) from you. "Who wants to read some Spider-Man comics before we go, huh?"

You smile. As long as you're with those two, everything's okay.

That evening, you arrive at an extremely fancy restaurant. Fred holds your hand in his right, his left hand holds the car seat carrier. Fred's parents wait at a table in a private room. They stand up, smiling politely. "Mom, Dad!" Fred says. He releases your hand and hugs his parents with his one free arm.

"It's good to see you, Frederick," Fred's mom says. "We missed you."

"Missed you, too, Mom," Fred says. He turns to talk to his father.

Fred's mom turns to you. "You look so good, sweetie!" She hugs you. You smile and hug her back.

"Thanks. You do too."

"Oh, let me see the baby!" Fred sets the seat on the table and removes the baby from the seat. "Oh, (she/he)'s beautiful!"

"Looks just like (her/his) mother, huh?" Fred's dad says.

"More like Fred, I think," You say.

Fred's dad hugs Fred's shoulders. "I'm proud of you, son." Then he turns his attention to his grandchild.

Fred wraps an arm around your waist and kisses your forehead.

"Can I hold (her/him)?" Fred's mom asks.

"Of course," You say. Fred gently sets the baby in his mother's arms. "Hi, little one. Hi. I'm your Grandma."

As Fred's parents talk to their grandchild, you fill with absolute happiness. "I shouldn't of been so upset with them," You say. "Look at them. They're so happy. (Baby_name)'s happy. (She/he)'ll be even happier with (her/his) grandparents a part of (her/his) life." Fred tightens his grip around you for a second.

"I love you," He whispers.

The waitress walks over, bringing Fred's parents back from the World of (Baby_Name). The waitress pours wine and water and brings appetizers of small bowls of fancy soups.

After dinner, you're rocking (baby_name) to sleep. Fred grabs your jacket and drapes it over your shoulders. Fred's mom kisses the baby's cheek. "Oh, bring (her/him) over as many times as you can, okay?"

"Okay." You smile.

"I love you two," She says suddenly, hugging you gently. She turns to Fred and kisses his cheek. "You too, Frederick. Visit me soon."

"I didn't think it was possible," Fred murmurs. He strokes your arm as you try to fall asleep.

"Didn't think what was possible?" You mutter.

"To be any happier," Fred says.

You smile. "Aw, Freddie." You kiss him gently. "I love you."

Fred hugs you closer. "I love you, too, ___. So, so much." He kisses your forehead. You fall asleep, totally happy and at peace.
