baby, baby, baby

a/n: i wrote this faster than i've ever written anything and i didn't proof read it so it most likely sucks but thanks to Average_fangirl for the idea, i couldn't resist and it practically wrote itself so enjoy!!

Ricky slumped in his desk chair, doodling in his notebook as the Home Ec teacher rambled on about something or the other. Nini on the other hand was animately listening to her teacher, excited about their homework for the weekend.

"so, you're expected to treat this like a real child. you need to feed it, change it, rock it, everything. if you damage the doll in anyway or ignore it's cries, it will automatically begin to dock your grade. do you all understand?"

everyone nods their heads and begin to partner up. Nini turns to look at her boyfriend next to her, drowning when she notices he's not paying attention, "Ricky!" she whisper yells at him.

"hmm?" he turns to look at her before noticing the rest of the class grabbing their dolls, "shit, sorry."

he gets up, the girl following behind him, "no curing around the baby." she mumbles.

the couple get up to the teachers desk where she hands them a baby dressed in pink, along with a car seat and diaper bag, "don't forget to put the wristbands on so i can monitor your progress." she reminds them before sending them back to their desks to pack up.

Nini holds the baby against her chest, cradling it. Ricky chuckles, "is it even on yet?"

"yes it is, and i want to get a good grade so we're going to take this seriously." she reminds him before gently setting the doll in the car seat, strapping it in.

they grab their backpacks and the dolls bag before heading out to his car to go home. it was finally the weekend so they hoped that the baby wouldn't be too difficult to take care of.

they get out to the student parking lot, Ricky unlocking his car. he hops into the front seat after putting his backpack in the bag when he looks in the rear view mirror to see his girlfriend sitting in the back seat, "Neens, what the hell are you doing back there?"

"i'm sitting with the baby." she says, checking to make sure the seat is secure.

he shakes his head a little, "okay."

the ride to his house isn't long but he glances into the backseat often. he smiles when he sees the brunette girl fretting over the doll, making sure everything was okay.

Ricky puts the car in park in the driveway, grabbing their bags as Nini grabs the car seat before they go inside. Mike is sitting on the couch, a sports game on in front of him, "hey kids!"

"hey dad."
"hi Mr Bowen."

Nini sets the car seat down on the floor as she takes a seat in the arm chair, pulling the baby out and cradling it, "hey babe? can you grab a bottle from inside that diaper bag, she should be getting hungry."

Mike smirks as he watches his son go through the bag, "ahh the old robot baby assignment, i still remember doing that."

"you do?" Ricky asks, handing the bottle to his girlfriend.

she begins to feed the baby as Mike fills them in, "yeah, i took the class with you mom buddy. she wanted to prepare me for the future since we were already engaged."

that was something not a ton of people knew. Mike and Lynne had gotten engaged in senior year and married right after graduation. it was the reason why they didn't work out, according to him. he says that they should've waited.
