Carol slams the front door behind her as she and Dana come into the house. Nini whips her head towards them as Carol stomps off into the kitchen, Dana taking a seat next to the girl on the couch.

"is mama C okay?" Nini asks, turning down the volume on the tv.

Dana let's out a sigh and nods, "it's just business with the Bowen's again. you know how riled up she gets."

she nods and turns back to the tv as Dana follows her wife into the kitchen. Nini takes her phone out of her pocket and sends a text to the most recent contact.

meet me at our spot in 30.

Nini sighs contently as the boy presses sweet kisses to her neck. music plays softly from his playlist in the car as they cuddled up in the backseat. her hand finds his abdomen under his shirt, her nails scraping at him lightly.

he bites down gently on her collarbone, "oooh, Ricky." she moans softly as her head tips back.

the curly haired boy unattached himself from her and sat back against the door, breathing heavily. Nini took this time to look at him; tousled hair, flushed cheeks, a few red bruises on his neck. she assumed she looked the same.

she sighs as she leans against the other door, facing him, "what time is it?"

Ricky grabs his phone from the cup holder up front and checks the time, "almost 8."

Nini nods, "i should head back soon. gotta make time to cover the marks in the car."

he smiles sadly, "i wish we didn't have to hide."

"me either but you know my moms and your parents have this stupid feud going on. they'd never let us be together." Nini exclaimed as she ran a hand through her hair stressfully.

nobody knows why the Salazar-Roberts' and the Bowen's don't like each other. when Ricky and Nini were kids, they were totally fine, then around the time they went into the sixth grade, things changed. suddenly, they weren't allowed to play together anymore and Nini's moms took her out of their private school and transferred her to an all girls school halfway across town.

they didn't mean to fall for each other. while they never agreed with their parents feud, they stopped seeing each other simply because they no longer had contact. that was until Ricky saw her working at a cafe downtown. Nini had wanted a little freedom from her moms so she took a job downtown at her favorite cafe. she was working behind the counter one day when Ricky came in. they sat at a table in the corner talking all night after her shift until her manager kicked them out to close up. they drove around Salt Lake for a couple more hours just talking and reconnecting. they started hanging out secretly whenever she had work, which became more frequent so she had an excuse to see him. one night after her shift, Ricky drove her up to this lookout point. they sat on the hood of his car and talked for hours, holding hands. while Ricky was looking up at the stars, Nini leaned over and kissed his cheek. when he turned to face her, she kissed him quickly on the lips. he returned the kiss and they'd been together ever since. that was just over two years ago.

Ricky reached out for her, Nini crawling in between his legs, her back against his chest. he wrapped his arms around her, both breathing contently once they settled. he pressed a kiss to her hair, "i'm gonna get us out of here Nini, i promise."

"i know." she responds, "can you tell me about our life together again? what it's gonna look like?" she asks quietly.

he drops his chin to her shoulder and chuckles a little as he squeezes her gently, "well, we're gonna drive as far away from here as we can. i'm thinking we can go somewhere east maybe."
