Nini rolls her eyes as her phone lights up, quickly reading the text on the screen. the girls at the table all make knowing faces at the young woman, already knowing who the message was from.

Kourtney takes a sip from her drink, "is that Ricky?"

the brunette runs her hand through her long hair, picking up her glass and taking a long drink from it, "ugh, he's been sending me texts telling me i need to come get my stuff. i just don't wanna go over there right now."

the girls look at her for a long moment before Ashlyn speaks up, "well don't you want your stuff back?"

"i mean," she paused for a moment, "yeah i guess but most of the stuff at his place is stuff that has a lot of...memories. not exactly stuff i want back at the moment."

Gina smirks, "you sure that's the only reason you don't want to see him?"

the petite girl frowns, "what do you mean?"

"EJ told me Ricky went out on a date the other night and that he mentioned you had been at the restaurant. you sure you just don't wanna see him after he was on a date?"

the girls all look at their friend, watching as her face contorts and she scoffs, "guys, really? yeah i saw him on a date but that doesn't matter. Ricky can date anybody he wants, he can sleep with anybody he wants, i don't care. we're not together anymore."

Nini takes a long sip, nearly emptying her cocktail, as all the girls stare at her and share knowing looks.

her phone lights up again, this time a message from her latest hook up and she groans internally.

she'd met a guy on Tinder a few nights ago and they'd gone out to get some drinks, and she'd gone back to his place and let him fuck her senseless while she pretended to be interested, instead she was thinking about Ricky's curls as she pulled on her dates hair, thought about his lips on her body as her date trailed his lips across her skin, she thought about how he felt inside her and how his moans filled her ears.

the guy was nice and was okay in bed but she wasn't interested in seeing him again. she didn't even feel that bad. she wasn't typically a one night stand kind of person but she was trying to get Ricky out of her system.

the girls continue to drink and chat throughout the night. Nini's on her fifth drink when another text from her ex flashes across her screen. she glances down and can't help but smirk at the message.

you wanna come over? i've been thinking about you and i want you.

she lets out a shudder of a breath and passes a hand through her hair. she thinks for a moment about the message, he wants her.

another text lights up her screen from the same person.

come on Neens, i'm begging for you.

she feels her stomach flutter at his words, he's begging for her. he wants her. he needs her.

she chugs down the rest of her drink, grabbing her phone and her purse, standing up from her chair, "um, i'm gonna go ladies...i just got an invitation for the night."

Gina smiles, "don't break another heart Neens."

she flips her friend off as she makes her way out of the bar. luckily, the bar they were at was only a few blocks from her ex's apartment. she begins her walk there, going through the checklist in her head about whether or not she was clean shaven and wearing a matching underwear set. she knows she's being ridiculous. he didn't text her saying he wants to take her to a fancy dinner and make love to her after, but instead he want to fuck her at 2am.
